As a jeweler you spend a lot of time enchanting metal and I have been looking for ways to automate the process. I created a hotkey that will stand up cast the enchant spell and sit down. This conserves a little mana but you still have to left click to put the bar in your inventory. My question. is there a command or way that you can deposit the bar in you bag automatically?

/pause 52,/cast 8 (5.2 sec pause and cast slot 8)
/sit

Any sugestions are appreciated.

well there's no way to automate dropping stuff into a bag that I know of, short of >prohibited< macro programs.

There is one tip I can offer that may help a little. From foraging a lot, I have found that the cursor can handle up to 3 items on it. So you MAY be able to enchant 3 bars on a macro, then come back and click all three into a bag, and then click your macro again.

I'd try this with silver bars first, just to make sure!

Edit - when I say "macro" above, I mean hotkey, within EQ. I do not use external macro programs.

When more then one duplicate item is on the cursor , the newest one POOFs...



So don't do it.

I haven't tested this with the new UI, but if you enchanted a bar while already holding one, you lose it. I'm willing to bet that you can hold up to 3 non-identical, non-stackable items on your cursor but not enchanted bars.

Yes, I lost at least one platinum bar this way. Yes, I learned to duck out of Enchant: Platinum if I noticed I had a bar on my cursor

That you can hold up to 10 *different* items on your cursor. I forget who though, but it was on the old EZBoards.

Heres why this is a crock of hooey.
I know (and have fallen victim to) the fact that if you have an enchanted bar of *metal* on your cursor, and cast enchant *metal* that the second bar will poof (waves bye bye to 19 bars of gold).

But look at brewing. Making Faydwer Shakers, the result yeilds either a cask or a succesful shaker, and 4 stacked bottles.

So I know for a fact that a combination can yeild not only different items, but also multiple instances of the same items, but they have to "leap" onto the cursor at the same time. This is something I'd like to see fixed.

I'd also like to see the Smithing "breakdown" of ores fixed too. The block/Lbrick/Sbrick/piece are supposed to break down into 2/3 of what it takes to make one, but rignt now (unless its been fixed) they only break down into 1. oh well.
