Is everyone else noticing diamond dust to be very rare? I've been trying to camp this with no luck. Is this just IG or do FG drop it too in Solb.

According to Allakh's it drops from Fire Giants in Solb yes, but they are a few levels higher than the IG's and I don't know Solb too well. Plus its always fun trying to get close to Vox and getting booted from the zoneOriginally posted by Cartright

I just thought that since diamond dust is use to make gem cutters, it would be a JC question

Gem cutters are tinkered... but their only uses (that i know of) are in a VP quest and in Jewelcraft, so... i guess it can go in both.Comment

I can confirm from personal experience that the Fire Giants in Sol B do (occasionally) drop Diamond Dust.
Being a Wizard, they were a bit tricky to farm solo (they can only be cast on from inside melee range, and come in pairs+) but I managed.Comment

I tried camping the IGs inside Permafrost for a few hours with no luck last week. I was planning on going back again this week, except one of my guildies managed to get one for me on Tuesday. As as I know, she was just camping the IG's in Everfrost Peaks.
So while I'd say there are rare, they aren't too rare. I had just GM'd the night before and told my guild to be on high alert for diamond dust. I logged in the next day, and it was already Mission Accomplished.Comment

Since this is already ongoing, I'll throw out my question.
Can anyone say with 100% certainty that they drop from the ice giants outside of permafrost too? I know they do drop inside.
