Gadjette, my Enchanter, finally got to 250 in JC last night and managed her Trophy on her second attempt. (Then she made 2 more Artisan Seals for someone else in my guild who just hit 250 in Baking. Got Artisan Seals down pat now)
I had skilled her up to somewhere around 110 a long time ago...I forget the cost, and I am sure it was too much, as I just winged it at the time.
To get her from roughly 110 to 250 cost me around 30k, and I used the chart from RPG Expert as a guide. All told, it probably took 12 hours to go from 110 to 250, but a lot of that time was spent medding to enchant more bars.
INT was 265, DEX was 244, and I had a Geerlock.
Now to grind AA's till my eyes bleed and the cows come home for JCM3 and Salvage3. Since Norrath lacks cattle, this will be a while...
As a purely circumstantial observation: I had read somewhere (RPGExpert comments, I believe) that skillups were more frequent on unenchanted bars. It seemed, indeed, to be the case, for the Gold bars when I got tired of waiting for more mana, and again for the platinum bars when, once again, I got tired of waiting for more mana. I didnt count combines, however, so the evidence is circumstantial at best.
