Anyone else notice this?

I've been trying to improve any augments that I see drop and doing them for any friends that ask. I've got around a 50/50 sucess rate on the flow stones (with JCM 3), but have yet to be successful on gem combines (my sample size for these is only 4 or 5 though).

Maybe I'm just having a streak of bad luck, but it really seems to me that the gems are harder to make... Are those that have had success sure the trivials on the flow stones and gems are the same? Or noticed a difference in success rates?

I have cut two stones.. a citrine and a voidflow one. I attempted radiant cuts on both. Made the citrine and failed the voildflow. This is with 252 skill and JCM3.

The sample size is too small.

I recently failed 8 times in a row making an item in tailoring that I had previously (on another day) succeeded in making 4 times in a row (earthweave) as a GM tailor.

5 of 6 successful on brilliant cuts.

Currently at about 60% success with Radiant cuts. Gems seem to fail no more than flowstones so far. I've attempted about 25-30 radiant so far

It just feels more painful and memorable when you fail the gems though

After I cut more the two types seemed to even out. Took a gamble and cut two tourmalines and succeeded on them... Yay!

Made 23 radiant cuts in a row on flow stones all good, (252 with eyeglass, and a nec so no AA), then failed 8 in a row, then made 2, failed 2. RNG is all.
