  • cost of skilling up past 200

I'm an enchanter and have skilled up to 190ish in jewelcrafting. Enchanting the metal before combining has allowed me to pretty much break even on my skilling ups (platwise, but not timewise). I've checked the sellback rate for velium jewelry I already had and it was less than the cost of the components. But I haven't checked the sellback price for platinum jewelry. Does anyone know if making platinum jewelry will also be revenue neutral?

Only velium does what you've seen.

Silver, electrum, gold and platinum sell back for slightly above materials cost IF the metal is enchanted.

if your at 190 stick with the gold stuff till after 200. Once your there if you have enough pp for a 20 stack of platinum bars you will have enough to get to 250. I started making "decent" plat after 220. From 220-245 I made 800pp. There are faster ways to make 800pp but I did get paid to skill up. I am hoping to finish this miserable part of skill ups tonight so I can work on lvl some more And IMO JC was fun up to about 190, after that its just frustrating and goal oriented. I WANT TO BE DONE!!!!!

If you enchant all your bars it should not cost you anything really to get to 250. Buy back shows a little profit so you only lose money on failures.

162-239 (any point skilling up any further with gearlock/trophy?) took me 6-8 hours and approx 12K with 129 charisma..should have been more in the range of 8-10K but I forgot to put charisma gear on when buying/selling a few times AND was doing skillups in shadowhaven when I accidently sold 30 items to a heavily trafficed trader ( 76pp for items that should have been 120pp ). None of it was enchanted ( cleric ). Made my trophy first try with 251 wis and 239 skill ).

Price when selling enchanted jewelry seems to have dropped

Recently, in late December 2002, on Tunare server, I noticed selling back enchanted jewelry to NPC merchants wasn't giving a slightly better price than cost of components but much less. I can't give values because not in front of game now. I often bought rubies when carrying plats to lose weight and convert later into enchanted golden ruby rings and sell them back to merchands and not lose money, it's how I noticed it wasn't working like before anymore.
I turned GM Jeweler before but I would never have been able to do it without the extra money given back from selling enchanted jewelry to finance failures (and even give back some little money).
Can anybody confirm this is the case on all servers or at least on Tunare? I didn't see any patch message talking about this change. I think the change was done either 12 or 19 december.

I just recently went from 201 to 250 on TP. I did it in about 2 or 3 days of VERY light tradeskilling. I enchanted approximately half of my platinum bars, and it cost me roughly 4k out of pocket.
