  • artisan seal

    hello...
this may have already been posted , but i failed to see it anywhere.
when making the artisan seal in JC, do i have to do the pottery part myself or can i get someone to do it? the reason i ask is, i haven't any pottery skill at all.
    thanks

After mounting the gems you can hand them over to a Potter to make the final combine for you. The Seal is indeeed tradeable.

ok one more quick question. after combined in a pottery wheel it says fire with a hq firing sheet. is the firing part ,is that trivial or can anyone do it without a skill in blacksmithing? my skill is like 36 in blacksmithing
        thanks again

The firing of a pottery piece, any piece, is still a check on your pottery skill, not smithing. As for the trivial, I would still recommend using a high level pottery skill to do so, less chance of failure.

ok i was under the impression that once you combined the items in the pottery wheel then you had to use a blacksmith to fire it with a hq firing sheet in a forge or something. but the pottery is done with a hq firing sheet . thanks for clearing that up

It has to be "fired" in a kiln. theyre generally right next to the pottery wheels... =)

                Bests stats

                Hi!

I'm practicing brewing/baking with my druid. This week, I tried to look at the bazaar in my server to see if anyone is selling the Artisan seal (Tholuxe P). I never saw it, and nobody answered my question about a pc for it... until this afternoon, when a lvl 54 told me that it cost 2k to make, that no one make those, too complicated, and if he would make one to sell, he would sell it at 4-5k. Mmm, a bit pricey for something that I may need more then once...

A friend has agree to make an enchanter and practice jewelcraft with it, as long as i provide pp for it. Well, I don't have enough EQ time as is it for my tradeskills, epic, hunting, so cool !

But what should I ask him to go with his chanter in term of lvl/skill so that he will be able to make my artisan seal?

Sorry if it at already be discussed in another place...

The storebought components for an artisan seal (8 velium bars and 4 rubies) cost just north of 3k. The dropped gems add another k or so, depending on server, jacinths are usually the bottleneck. I sell seals regularly, and when I last calculated my costs, including failures and tip for the enchanter, it came out to about 5250 per seal. If you see someone selling for "4-5k", buy immediately. If someone popped up on my server doing that I'd buy him out and try to make some trophies...

Seals are very low-skill items though, get your jewelcraft and pottery to 150 and you can make them no problem.

Velium bars are 262.5 plat each i thiugh and rubies are 131.5 i thought so
                    8 * 262.5 =2100pp and 4 x 131.5 = 526pp so cost of store bought stuff is slightly over 2600pp

As to cost, remember this... Faction and Charisma play an important role, and not everyone will get the best prices.

Since Yalum suggested to jump on one if sold for 4-5k, I jumped today on it, since it was on sale for 4.5k , hehe! I hope when my brewing skill is high enough for me to try to make the trophy, I will have enough pp to buy enough of it to make my trophy...

Any suggestion to increase my chance of success on the trophy?

Suggestions for success? Make sure you have a geerlok so your modified skill is 252. Other than that pray or whatever luck ritual you have. Nothing else you can do. You'll either make it on the first try and have everyone cursing you or fail 7 times in a row. (Working on failure number three myself. Nah, I"m not pessimistic at all about this)

Speaking of the bottleneck... sites I've seen say a Jacinth is worth about the same as a blue diamond, but they seem much more rare (Nobody is selling them on my server). What would be a good price to offer for one if you are searching?

When they show up at all in the bazaar (on E'ci, for sake of reference), they seem to usually be less than 250pp, and the couple of times I've actually auctioned for them, offering 250 got a fairly quick response. Maybe I've been lucky. If you're patient (though I know it's hard to be patient when you've got everything ready to go on your trophy except for one gem ), you can frequently find them for less than 200.
