  • Engraved royal velium question

I'm hoping someone can help me out of my quandary here. After completing my 8th shawl, a friend wanted a full suit of the engraved armor. So I went to the JC website and it said that to engrave you combine the no drop armor with the etching tools. The first piece I made was boots. That worked fine. However, the next piece I made was the gauntlets and it kept saying that the gloves and etching tools are an invalid combine. Someone then suggested that I use another faceted emerald in the kit with the armor and tools and that worked. However, the recipe page did not mention the use of multiple faceted gems.

Could someone who has made this armor before please tell me if the armors that use 2 sheets of metal use 2 gems? Do the armors that use 3 sheets of metal use 3 gems? That would be a lot more camping than I thought.

    Thanks for your help.

Nope only takes one gem no matter what piece (unless you fail). If I had to guess I'd say you failed the imbuing and were then trying to combine the Royal Velium Gauntlets (instead of Imbued Royal Velium Gauntlets) with the etching tools. Armor piece but not facted gem is returned upon a failed imbuing combine if I recall correctly.

You're right! That's exactly what happened now that I think about it. Silly me. I'm very relieved!
