  • forgive this question, but i must ask about tradeskill levels

I know this question has been asked and answered a thousand times, but please indulge me as the one thousand and first.
Are tradeskills bound by your chars level like other skills, such as 1HS or picklocks?
    ie: level x 5 + 5 or whatever it is,(my memory fails)?
I did try the search function, but alas i could not figure out a way to fraise my search to give inteligable levels of response
Thank you in advance for your patientce and help.

Nope. You can get a level 1 character to 250 in a tradeskill as long as you don't have post 200 in another one already ^_^

Well, it depends on the tradeskill.
Gnomes start with 50 in tinkering, and can't advance the skill until lvl 16.
A shaman can take up Alchemy at lvl 29.
Research has a lvl cap.. formula is (current lvl - 15)*5, so at lvl 25 you can get your research to (25-15)*5= 50

The rest of the tradeskills have no lvl cap as far as I know...

Actually Shamen can start alchemy at 25, although people recommend waiting until 29 due to the point assignings from the guildmaster. It is also level restricted, you must be 64 to get 200 in alchemy. Level - 24 * 5 for max skill.

Tinkering can advance once a gnome is 16. At 16, the gnome can proceed to 250 in tinkering.

Rogues can take up poison making at 18/20 ish.

Research for int casters starts at 16 and is level restricted. Level - 15 * 5 for max skill.

The remaining "regular" tradeskills (baking, brewing, jewelcraft, smithing, tailoring, pottery, fletching) are able to get one of these 7 over 200, all the way to 250, when a player is level 1. The remaining 6 skills max at 200 until you spend AA points in NTCM after you achieve level 51.

            Make Poison

Rogue's Make Poison is level restricted as well. Not sure what the formula is, but it is definately restricted... Found out the hard way I did.
