  • Max Stats info question

I have searched and not come up with any hard info. Anyone have any kinda of mathematical equation or a list of data concerning skill up rate with a int or wis of 355 compared to 280.

I really dont like exp'n all that much hehe so my aa are limited... How much greater will my skill up rate be if my int is 355...or 320 compared to 280..u know, seems like there should be some kinda mathematical breakdown...i hope.

i did come up with this thread in the search :
    http://mboards.eqtraders.com/upload/showthread.php?threadid=7672&highlight=enlightenme nt

but everyone pretty much says "it cant hurt" type of stuff, or lists their personal success rate but nothing seems confirmed...i was hoping now that AA enlightenment etc has been around a little longer maybe someone has kept track?

also, while searching through the FaQ looking for an answer it states something like...stats dont effect success only skill ups... so theoretically if someones skill is 252 (with geerlok..max) they could take off all their int/wis gear and one would see the exact same success rate? is that correct?
(or whatever their skill is as long as the combine is trivial)

    thanks in advance

    As far as I know:
your int or wis (or dex for tailoring, possibly cha for JC) affects only wether or not you gain a skill up on a combine. The success of the combine is determined only by your skill, any mods, and of course, the random number generator.
As for the skill up rate on 255 versus 305 I have no personal data to add, but if you want a guess, i'd say get to 305 if you plan to go over 175 skill in any tradeskill. That's the point where things get tough/expensive in my experience.
and last, remember that as far as I know, no matter what your skill, your chance of making an item is always between 5% and 95%

Very trivial items now have a lower than 5% failure rate.

        AFAIK

So far as I'm aware, there is NO CONLUSIVE evidence that shows any better chance of a skill increase with any stat higher than 255.

And yes, the chance of SUCCESS is based only on your Skill level vs. the trivial of the item you're trying to make. Modifications count of course.

So, with 250 + Geerlok (modified 252 skill), you could take off all your INT gear, drink yourself into a stupor (12 INT), and still have the same chance of success making something as if you were at 280 INT.

        Good luck in your trades.

Well, my personal experience does not count as a scientific fact or conclusions. However, here is what I observed. On my cleric, I had WIS of 300 plus when I skilled up on brewing from about 100 to 200 range (currently 200) I was getting about a skill up per about 15 combines or less. When I was doing the same with my druid from 100 to 200 range (He's at 188 now) he was gaining about one per 30 with WIS of about 220. I see a huge noticeable differences between the two so personally I believe it does help to have higher stats.

Aye, there is a noticable difference between 220 and 255...

            It's just 255 and higher that's questionable.

I took an erudite wizard, 20th level, 255 INT and did brewing to 250 with him.

Average from 0 to 250 was 20.xx combines per skill point.

            0-170+ was a breeze

over 200 sucked, and that's where I came up with 20.xx combines per skill up. All the raw data is still on the board here somewhere...
