Do skill bonuses stack?

If you have more than one +skill% item do they stack? I was wondering if it's worth having both a geerlok quill and a thought horror scalp for doing research combines.

Also, I saw an earlier thread where it was said that a +% item wont help if you're already at 250 skill. Does the same apply if your research skill is 200? In 1 more level I'll have 200 research and I was hoping someone here might have advice on how to maximize my chance of success on the expensive high end combines.

I'll probably use my geerlok quill no matter what just for the superstition factor.

The general feeling is, and I think Sony has confirmed it, is that only one (likely the best one) is used for success chances.

% skill mods do not stack. What ever the highest % mod is will be used for the make or fail check when you hit the combine button. They will add a little to a 250 tradeskill. You can get an effective 252 tradeskill with any % mod even at 250 skill.

Thanks for the info. I probably won't pick up a thought horror scalp then since I have the geerlok quill. The only item I know of with more than +5% research skill is the sanguine robe, and there's no way I'm going to be able to get one of those any time soon.

Even though someone with 250 research only gets a small bonus, I'm still curious if a character with 200 reseach skill (the max) gets the full 5% or whatever since it maxxes lower.
