There's not much to say. I'm still in shock that I managed to beat the evil tradeskill known as fletching.

Last night, in what seemed like an unprecedented run of skillups with the RNG, I saw THIS:

I can’t believe it!! I DID IT!!! WOOT!!!!! All my ranting about fletching, all my pain and fustration, all the work...I DID IT!!!!
My nightmare was over. I BEAT Fletching!! I WON at EVERQUEST TRADESKILLS!! WOOOTTTT!!!
By the time I saw the 250 appear on my screen, my eyes were weary, my hands tired, and I was all out drained. It was far too late and needless to say, that last little fight against the evil beast known as Fletching took the last bit of strength from the day out of me. I did some quick screenshots and camped. Tonight I shall attempt my Fletching Trophy!
Looking back on all of it, the events of last evening, and what happened, I am about as stumped as anyone else. The only rationale I can come up with is the following three things:
1. Grimlings feared me, and were tired of me invading their home for Acrylica to make arrows, as I was tired of invading their home.
2. The RNG took a night off and it's standin had no clue what to do or how to run when someone did fletching combines.
3. Mithaniel Marr heard my cries for help, and my rant and decided to step in and lend a hand.
Whatever the rationale is, whatever happened to give me those skillups, I really don't care anymore. I AM a member of the 1750 club!! WOOT I did it!! 250 in ALL tradeskills!!!
A goal I set out to accomplish 8 months ago, a goal which was partly the reason for leaving my former guild, a goal that I thought I would never reach, three years of combines, farming, more combines, invested platnium, time and efforts, all came to an end last night.
Who would have thought...
It's funny, as I'm writing this post, I remember the day clear as it was yesterday. I was standing in North Freeport with a few guildmates way back when I was barely a mage, soon after just finding my way to Norrath, nearly 3 years ago. One guildmate was working on smithing, and making toolboxes. He proceeded to talk about tradeskills, and the "cool" things he could make with them. I remember my reply:
Ok..ok...so I'll eat my words now, with a side of Justice Fruit Pies and and some Qeynos Afternoon Tea please.
So you may be asking, how did I go from the above quote, to being 250 in all tradeskills? Well, the answer is simple. One day, shortly after I joined another guild, I was killing giants in Great Divide with guildmates and one of them asked for all the giant heads and toes. Said she was working on some kind of "quest" that needed them and needed tradeskills to make this really nice shoulder item. I inquired more about the quest, and she told me the final result, and well, of course I wanted the shoulder item (the Coldain Prayer Shawl). If not for that the iksar shaman lizard guildmate who told me about the shawl, I probably would have never gotten as involved in tradeskills as I did. (This shaman knows who she is, because to this day, I tease her about how my addiction to tradeskills is all her fault).
Somewhere along the line, the quest for the shawl turned into a quest for much more then that. It turned into a quest to max all skills, to make great stuff for everyone I knew, to be a true tradeskill master. In the end, that quest took me on a journey I will never forget, taught me things I never thought I would learn, and gave me experiences I never imagined. In the end, the journey was fun, profitable, exciting, scary, fustrating, hair pulling, challenging, and most of all, extremely memorable.

Ha! Tradeskills - what a waste of time, who would want to "make" stuff when you can kill monsters and get more powerful in levels. I'll never do tradeskills, it's not worth it.
