  • LOY dye ???

    Hi all,

just a supid question... how does the LoY dye work??

Does it count as a tradeskill (or using a tradeskill, such as Alchemy)? Once the dye is applied, would i be able to change it again??

sorry but I have been looking for these information without success.... just want to know if i can make my Vah Shir prettier in any way

    thx !!

You apparently weren't looking in the right place. For information about dyes and how they are made, go to the LoY recipes page at http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/LoYrecipes.htm#dyes.

You cannot "remove" a dye -- you can only redye it to some other color. To "remove" it you can set it ot 255 255 255, but that will "dye" it to silver or white, not to its "original" color.

Actually, setting the color to 255, 255, 255 will restore the original color. Specifically it's reserved as a 'transparent' color that lets the native color of the armor show through. For a silvery-white color set one or more of the values to a lower number ... 254, 254, 254 for example.

Remember you're dying an inventory slot and not the armor. So you only need to change it when you want a new look. Items traded to other players retain their original properties.

And from what I have seen, you can not dye to 254, 254, 254, or a number of other values. They have a number of set colours they adjust too.

Darker colours seem to be more thorough in dying. Also, not all things dye the same.

I tried turning a Robe of Haunted Dreams to a light coloured robe, and all I got was a change in the highlights. In fact, it looked a tad darker, and I had it as white as the system would let me go.
