Benefit to stat over 255??

If there a benefit to having your highest stat over 255? I have been told there is not, or it would not be fair to people without PoP. And I was curious if there have been any tests done.

There definitely is a large advantage to get your stats highest possible, specially the wis/int and str/dex as needed. They help you skill up much faster. I have noticed that at wis 320 I skill up almost 50% faster than at wis 255.

Having gone to 250 16 times or so... Have noticed its a lot quicker with 355 Int.

Question:
When you say your <insert stat> is 320 or 355, is that the effective value or the displayed value?

My necro is level 24. With his tradeskilling equipment on, his int displays as 255, but is actually 257. With an int buff from my chanter, it is of course higher.

So... which is it, o' oracles of wisdom?

The displayed value is the effective value. Otherwise there would be no point in the increased stat caps after level 60.

A level 65 person has a 280 cap naturally. The people who are stating 300+ INT/WIS have used the AA system to raise their effective caps. You can get up to 355 with enough AA points spent.

However, a level 24 is capped at 255, and there is nothing you can do to get beyond that at your level.

It not being fair to people without pop is the point. You buy the expansion, you get the benifits. If there were no benifits, nobody would buy the expansion.
