This just in the latest patch on test server:

The shared bank slot now has a plat slot, wher you can move plat from one character to another. =)

Standard Test Server disclaimer (may not go live, blah blah blah).

And its not really tradeskill related, but its a nice feature.

Finally they're giving it a try. I do hope it makes it to live... It would make life so much easier as I find more often than naught I must transfer plat and not items between myselves.

How many people remember the old days of finding that very out of the way spot, dropping a few thousand pp on the ground, and praying that you were able to log back in fast enough to pick it up?

This is a great feature which should really reduce the number of /petitions that GMs get (Jane just stole my pp!) which is, I expect, the main reason they put it in (assuming it goes live).

Actually, you can't do that anymore since they made the coins no drop. I do remember doing that, dropping not only coins but bags of stuff in a corner of NRo and hoping I can get to get before someone else did.

A while back one could. It was ended (some say) because of a practice known as "newbie bombs". Someone would drop a few thousand copper on the ground in a newbie zone and sit back to watch the fun as newbie would pick it up and then not be able to move because they were so over encumbered with it's weight. It was kinda like the monkey with the fruit in the jar. Another trick some enchanters did was to drop a coin on the ground and illusion themselves to look like the coin and then pick up the one they drooped. They'd wait then for someone to come by and try to pick them up and start talking and emoting things while the other person stood their confused. Honestly, of all the practical jokes at another's expense that I've heard, those where some of the mildest IMO.

As for the Plat slot, it didn't bother me to not have it. I'm not going to complain though if it goes live.
