I hadn't seen or heard of this anywhere, so I thought I'd share. Also I apologize in advance if this is "old news."
I created a high elf enchanter last night, mostly to create mana vials (darned Wu's armor). After handing in the newbie note, the guildmaster told me he had a [book] for me if I was interested. Anyway, the book he gives was maybe 15 low-trivial recipes in it across all skills. He also had [another book] with similar content.
I'm can't guess if it's a movement to more tradeskill-based quests or just spreading awareness about skills, but it seemed like a nice addition.
