  • Question on Celestial Essences...

Celestial Solvent + Scent of Marr + Word/page/rune = Celestial Essence

Do you have to be a Wiz/Mage/Neco/Enchant to make these? Unsure because all the Words, pages, and runes are labled with class names at the top at the Celestial Essence Combines Recipe page.

    Help is appreciated

Nope, anyone can make them. They're no fail, to boot.

That's the wrong recipe tho.... it's celestial solvent + research item = celestial essence. Scent of Marr *is* a research item that is vendor sold, so most people just say or use that one in the recipe. And yes, any class can make these, they are no fail and you do the combine in a mortar & pestle.

Best to buy the scent of marr in PoK, at the poison vendors. Celestial Solvent is right outside.

Well... perhaps not -best- but certainly -easiest- to just buy Scent of Marr.

If you have the space (shared bank space, 16 bank slots, deluxe toolboxes) you can save up all the research pages/words/runes that work and use them. (generally it's cheaper, if I remember correctly, to use such pages than to sell them for cash and use the cash to buy Scent)

But, despite having a ton of room now... I just sell the research junk and buy Scent of Marr when I need Celestial Essence.
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

Impudent, If you don't want to hold onto them for future tradeskill use, you can sell them in the bazaar at your local "going rate" (likely to be anywhere from 4-15plat each).

IMO it's never worth holding the words to do CE's with simply because things are soo much easier when your working with stacks. A stack of solvent and a stack of scents. Click click click away. The only way I'd try to use found words was if carried the stuff on me to make em as I got them.

That's what I started doing. I'd be in Lower Guk slaughtering undead frogs, and eventually run out of space for spell components. Eventually I got the bright idea of bringing a stack of celestial solvent with me along with a mortar and pestle, and ended up saving a lot more of the spell components that I had previously been destroying.
