  • I want to know if I can recharge - NON tinkered items

Hi I have a cloth stained mask - 10 charges of UV (am fek blind human)
So anyhow I wanna know if I can recharge the mask - cuz its kinda sucky to have to go farm a new one everytime I run out of charges too.

Any help would be appreciated greatly.
I figured that maybe I would use a sewing kit or even have to smith it back in. But if someone could point me in the correct direction it would be easier for me.

    Thank you in advance

Nope, the only things that can be recharged by players are tinkered items. There are NPCs that will recharge some items but they are very rare and only do it for an item you get from there as a result of a quest.
Come on guys, one more pull. What is the worst that could happen?

Well.... There's supposedly a trick to it.

Supposedly, if you sell an un-charged item to a Vendor (Who has an open inventory slot), then close the window, then sell a fully charged item to the Vendor, then close the window...
When you next browse the Vendor, he will have the items in stock... fully charged.

I have never done this myself... and Verant/Sony has been known to have seriously raised the buy-back cost on some items (supposedly because of this).

A better way to solve this problem is... adjust the Gamma in-game and use a bright light-source.

There's also a Ring that drops in Sol-A that will help your vision... sorry, can't remember the name of it.

Actually the vendor trick is fully charged item first, then spent item. The vendor records the stats of the first item he gets, but just increments to quantity for any other items with the same item#.

There are items that have a worn effect of UV or IV, and a lightsource like a Greater Lightstone will work wonders

I can think of one non-tinkered example of this. Apparently there is a PoK quest to recharge some cloaks (or at least Mystic Cloaks) using other items turned in with the used up cloak. It won't help with your mask, but it is somewhat related.

Info for the quest is below

The charged item trick was big on PvP servers, specifically for golem wands. So they nerfed sellback on those, and a few other common charged items. You can still operate the recharge trick as explained above on MOST charged items at a fairly low cost. The caveat is that a lot of charged items are lore, so you have to coordinate getting two of the lore item onto the vendor.

Two of the major nerfs were Scepter of the Forlorn now costs about 26k onn a vendor (freaking 7 gold sale cost) and the Staff of Forbidden Rites now costs hellish amonts to buy back. Anyway, to pull it off with a lore item, I go to Rivervale and sell one to a merchant in hte tunnels that no one uses, then I get the 2nd oput of shared bank space ans go sell it, then buy them back in reverse order. You could also park a mule/alt next to the vendor, works very well if you have 2boxing abilities.

They also nerfed Cryptmaster's conjuring stones and snare poop.

dreadfang mask from cazic thule has unlimited charges of UV. i had to buy one for my druid who got used to wolf form she also likes the charisma and mana on it, though.

i still can't believe that the ONLY dropped item you can recharge is the mystic cloak.... i bet there's others, we just haven't hailed the right person while having the right item. If you hail the guy in POK and you DON"T Have a mystic cloak, he won't say anything about recharging.

The 2nd chardok ring quest is rechargeable by handing it back to Herald Tecla.

And some ring from a Rivervale quest whose name escapes me now. Had like 2 charges of light healing or something. Very old school quest.

That was rechargeable too by handing it back to the quest npc.

Plane of Sky quest items used to be rechargeable with mana batteries but they nerfed that a long time ago.

I can't think of any others.

Squad Ring you get from a Marshall if you have ally faction with RV guards. Recharged my H-something Mrubble in Cleric's guild. It had one charge of Healing. So not much to write home about, esp on mobs that hit for 100+. It should be upgraded to hold more charges or, even better, heh, infinite charges of healing.

Plane of Sky quest rewards can be recharged with mana batteries, if you ID a charged Plane of Sky item it should tell you what mana battery it needs, in fact this was the first use of mana batteries in the game and PoS was the first place you could buy the batteries.
