  • Geerlok and Trophy

Do the % for them geerlok and tradeskills trophy stack?
    For example, Geerlot hammer + 5 and Trophy + 5 = +10

I agree that it would be nice if our geerlok and trophie bonuses stacked, but I think it’s a question of control. Since such items don’t stack Sony can add in all kinds of different items with trade skill bonuses, allowing people to acquire them in different ways. This way a lot of people can get at least some bonus to their trade skills. If they stacked Sony would have to very careful about how many items they put in the game with the same type of bonus. Otherwise they could end up with a hand full of players in large guilds, who would have access to the harder to get items, with +50% to smithing, for example, and that would give those few players an unfair advantage over the other smiths in the game.

As it stands its very easy to afford a geerlok for almost every trade skill in the game. In fact, with the recent geerloks that were added Sony might have covered all the trade skills. So I don’t think its such a bad thing.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying on that..
Though the Trophy for example, isn't necessarily an EASY thing to make.. Sure, some get lucky, yet by the time you have a good % chance to make the darn thing your skill level in that tradeskill is pretty high in the first place. I guess what I'm saying is, AT LEAST the trophy should be able to stack with another item. It's ok if a geerlok and some other item(acquired by drop or something) NOT stack, but at least let the TROPHY stack IMHO.

the cap with bonuses is 252 anyways, so if you're making the trophy, you're probably at the cap with either anyways.

              Yup

Right, but there are items that don't trivial or are trivial unknown past 252 aren't there? So it would still help to have the Trophy % stack IMHO.

Yes, but your skill will never be over 252, that is the hard cap. You could have a 15% modifier equipped and 250 skill, and your modified skill is still 252. Btw, this is all explained in the Skill modifying items (Geerlok, etc.) FAQ.
