  • Most sought after forages

I'm wondering what the most sought after forages that an up and coming tradeskiller should keep an eye out for in the bazaar.

What foraged goods, if I see them selling, should I try to snap up (given that I'm not broke at the time :P )?

Good question, I guess the answer would be interesting for all the enterprising foragers too, who are hoping to make a fortune from foraged goodies aye?

Anyway, I would think that the various dye components for the LoY cultural robe ribbons, the dew for the high elf cultural, the ToV dragon and drake eggs, the PoJ justice fruit are good examples.

Planar oak from POG has sold for as much as 800p on my server. Down to about 250 now. Thats per piece, not stack.

Tufts are dire wolf fur are always in demand, but it requires so dang many of them (like 40) to make something that the price will never be high. They sell for 10, tho people start by asking 50 because there is some fool who has had 6 of them for 50 for like 9 months now.

Those are pretty much the same ones in demand on Xev. Vegetables sell quickly too but they are cheap.

and don't forget clockwork grease... ugh

Course I always did look strangely at people who think that by hitting their forage button they can command 50pp for an item. I'm sorry, but if you can forage it, it's just not that rare... inconvient, yes...

Actually, in this game inconvient=pp for a lot of people.
If you don't want to pay 50p, cool. Your choice.

If someone else decided they are willing to pay that much, then don't blame the forager for asking it.

Plant shoots can easily fetch 50pp each as they're both used in tailoring and baking for high end combines.

I look at this a bit differently. If I spent two hours killing a green mob for a drop and only got one, I’d call that rare. I spent two hours constantly hitting the forage button and only got one Yew Leaf. Since both situations equal the same amount of time and risk, I really don’t see a difference. Instead of hunting, working on my trade skills or any number of other things I could have been doing I spend two hours foraging one Yew Leaf. So yes, I think that time spent deserves to be compensated.

I sold that Yew Leaf for 250pp. And I haven’t gone back to forage any more since. Its just too boring.

For items like Plant Shoots - I try to find out EXACTLY what the foragers are going to do with their finds. Often I am able to negotiate a trade for the piece I'm after.

For example, I needed plant shoots for some Dryad and Panther Pate. Poor monk - but I had lots of griffon and anacondda meat.

Couple of quick tells and a druid who had a stack of plant shoots was more than happy to trade for a stack of griffon meat - and i threw in some extra cause he was nice. It was a WIN/WIN. I felt good, he prolly felt good - wish EQ was like this more often.

Well, if people actually pay 50 pp, there is nothing strange about it at all.

50 pp is about the break point, below which I'd rather buy morning dew than forage it. And my 55 ranger is quite good at foraging. In fact, if I see someone selling morning dew for less than 50 pp, I usually buy it whether I need it or not, just to encourage people to forage for it. I will also offer to buy it in Greater Fay, and have had made more than one newbie boogle at me, although they were quite happy with the plat.

It's still not easy to find large quantities of morning dew in the bazaar. Which means that 25-50pp is not worth many people's time to forage for it. It certainly isn't worth my time.
