    Oooo, firing!

Not a quite GM there (198), but lost two freekin Golden Idols of Tunare to Firing failures when I was making them for my guild awhile back - almost as many as I failed trying to make. Trivial change would be very nice there...

(glad the climb to 300 is finally over)

    Zopharr
95th Priest of Brell, Povar-Quellious, 300 Dwarven Grand Master Smith, 300 all skills
(holds his 15% smithing trophy in his off hand and pretends to dual-wield - and hopes the Holy Dirt of Brell he's carried for twelve years will have a use in the new expansion)

    Rishathra
95th Shaman of Inny, Povar-Quellious, 300 Troll Grand Master Smith
(got so tired of looking for a troll smith for armor that I made one)

    Marzanna
    95th Necromancer, Povar-Quellious, 300 Tinker - Tailor
    (still working on Solder, Spy)

I lost couple of Artisan's Seals on firing, talk about expensive failure. That alone would be worth all this.

Your assumptions on pottery assume that no trivials would be changed. As it is, pottery isn't one of the more combine heavy skills, nothing like say baking, or brewing. It is possible that they may adjust firing trivials on some items to 51 just to make sure the extra chance to fail is there. I sincerely hope I am wrong, but don't count it out.

Whoa! Slow down. Do all pottery firings trivial below 50? Does everyone have a 250 pottery? If I read correctly, only those items 200 points trivial will be no fail. I am not aware, not sure that I am anyway, that all pottery firings are skill 50 and lower. Anyone ever done that test with a level 50 potter? Make something with a potter, then have it fired by a lower level potter? I realize the firing process is simpler than the making, but 200 points easier? hmmmm

yes, many kiln firings are extremely low triv. i believe 19 is quite common.

No more failures on clumps of dough? Woot!

Can't tell you how frustrating it was to fail 2 times in a row making clumps of dough with dragon eggs. Hopefully this will have a noticable effect on other very trivial combines that aren't quite 200pts trivial... such as the fillets. I hate failing on the mammoth fillets.
