On my main account, Splunge, at this moment, im grouped with Frizznik, the Tradeskill developer for EQ on test server.

Im running some tests combining very very trivial items.

He said theres gonna be some changes to how very very trivial items are handled. Id like to talk to Denmom directly before spilling any more info, but am unable to find an email address on the main page.

    FRIZZNIK????

Break down some ore, and show him that what he sees IS NOT what you get.

That should count as very very trivial... 58? 57?

This thread was held for a bit while I checked to be sure it was ok to release this information.

It's now been moved back into public viewing, but the "standard" Test disclaimer applies. This is on TEST. Things can and do change from the time something hits Test, and when it goes live. Feel free to jump for joy and all that stuff, debate to your heart's content, but be aware that this is only on Test at this time, and that all bets are off with regards to how/if it will change before going live.

P.S. For *anyone* who wants to reach me before posting something that may be problematic. While I don't give away the email address to my VERY spam-filled mailbox, you can always reach me via a Private Message on the boards. I check those much more frequently than my mailbox anyway.

Frizznik, ahh, the ganomie ex-GM of Lanys ...

Anyway, regarding the breakdown of Ore, Lilosh, they changed it a short while back. Other people in the group and in the same zone as the one chiseling down the Ore will now only get ONE message of the item created, even if they gain multiple instances of it (i.e. making Rings out of a Large Brick of Ore yields only 1 Ring creation message, but yields 2 Rings regardless).

May or may not go live, but at this moment is *IS* on test server.

I see on my trader-bot monitor Frizznik in the bazaar oocing asking for anyone doing combines recently.
I was polishin off Fine Steel BPs to 188 earlier so i sentd him a tell. He asks about trivial combines, which would have been hammering the ore into sheets. He asked me if they were 200 points triv and i said no but i can check those with my ranger, 250 fletching.

So I log on. Heres the log file...

          [Thu Jun 12 19:28:24 2003] You tell your party, 'Ok, from what i underastand the moment something is trivial, you have about a 60-70&PCT;
chance of succes on the combine, and then it hits that 5&PCT; failure spot a number of points later
          (dont know the math formula). Now its gonna be ramped down from that point at 5&PCT; ailure to 0&PCT;
failure wen the item reaches 200 points trivial?'
[Thu Jun 12 19:28:50 2003] Frizznik tells the group, 'yep '
[Thu Jun 12 19:28:53 2003] Frizznik tells the group, 'gotta zone sec'

[Thu Jun 12 19:37:57 2003] You tell your party, 'ok i gotta scoot, thanks a bunch, frizz =)'

So thats the deal. Combines 200+ points trivial will now never fail. Combines will no longer be capped at a 5% inherent failure rate, but ramp down.

          /cheer =)

Yes, I know this is TEST, and may never ever go live.

Anyone want to start a preliminary list of items that trivial at 50 or less?
(So we know, AT MAX SKILL, what will be no fail now?)

So far, it appears as though:

                  ALL ore breakdown
                  ALL Studs/Boning
Sheets of Acrylia, Velium, and Metal
Folded SheetsNormal, MQ, HQ rings, but NOT Velium or Acrylia.
About half of the baking utensils, smithed.

Suprisingly little Pottery. Only of note is Ceramic Lining.

                  HEADY KIOLA. *snicker*

Halfling Cultural, Dire Wolf Fur Conversions = WOOT!

Silver Jewelry , up to Opal.

                  LEATHER PADDING!!
Tailored bags (Thread and various old world pelts)

                  Fireworks
                  Firewater.

Ok, I'm bored. Anyone want to pick up the ball from here?

Firing is going to be huge.

Medium Clay Jars for Fine Steel Plate Dye would also be nofail at max skill (don't they trivial 31?)

But the list goes on for a while. The pottery FIRING is going to be huge.
