  • how does high int effect learning ?

Well, i'm not much of trade skill guy, but i'm doing some now for an item i want.
Pre PoP int/wis cap was 255 .. and when pop came out it's 355 (with AA).
int/wis should effect how fast you learn a skill.
Is there a cap on how much int/wis helps to learn a skill ? or int > 255 helps on learn rate.

There is an active discussion about this... no firm conclusion though.

All I know is that I have much better skillup with 255 Int than lower. I would expect the trend to continue with 256+ Int.... and let's face it, I want 256+ Int for non-tradeskill reasons, so faster skill up would be more a bonus than a reason to raise Int beyond 255. At least for me.

If you are asking "should I wait and tradeskill up AFTER I can get Int over 255" ... Well that's gonna depend on if you want the tradeskill items for yourself, or you just want to do the Aid Grimmel quest. *grin*

Ok, so I did understand you...

The answer is.... we have no answer.

Some people say "yes" other people say "no" and still other people say "SOE said it didn't, but they said alchemy was working as intended."

You could be our test case.

Put on gear that gets you to exactly 255 or as close as possible.

Train a skill to the mid 100s.

Then switch to your 305 gear and train another skill to mid 100s.

        Compare total combines.

(for better comparison make a "mule" once shared bank space is live and have them with 255 make the same skill you do with 305 if you can)

That way you don't have to say "ok, I will try 400 combines at 305, wait and do the next 400 at 355 and compare them"

        because

        1) your skill success rate might influence you skill ups (unproven but likely theory)

        2) your level might effect both success and skill up rate

        3) something else might be changed in the time between (patch to tradeskills making them easier / harder)

It's much more "scientific" to hold things to one variable.

Best of luck, no matter what you decide to do. (Again, if you have intentions toward the "results" of tradeskills there is little reason to wait, but if you have a long term goal, like Coldain Shawls or Aid Gimmel and just want to sink as little money / time as possible in skills you don't need for other purposes waiting to 355 might be more useful, as you will by then certainly have more disposable wealth)
