• How do you make trophies?

Having played EQ for almost 2 and a half years, I am still a total newcomer with respect to tradeskills (I play a Rogue, and until fairly recently I didn't think my character should spend much time on them). Anyway, I learned the other day about the Jeweller Grandmaster's Eyeglass, and considered taking it up, since I was going to take up a tradeskill anyway. I then learned that any tradeskill can result in a similar item. Well, I deciced to take up brewing since it seems to be the cheapest one to raise, and I can then use the WR bag and some of the profits to start working on other skills.

Anyway, back to the point, my question is this; Where can I find a guide to making the trophies for each tradeskill (more specifically, brewing) ? I can't seem to find it on EQTraders. Is it there and I am just not looking hard enough?

secrets/recipes_trophies.htmTradeskill Trophies

It was in "recipes" listed under "cross-tradeskill" and "tradeskill trophies"

*grin*

Yeah, you just needed to scroll down a bit.

I did the same thing (though I had done tradeskills and stop before you started, tradeskills have come a long way in the last couple years)

One word of advice, pick the skill you are going to USE not just brewing cause it's cheapest. Because when you discover you -really- wanted to have Baking skill it's going to cost 3 AA points to bring your second tradeskill over 200.

Good luck.

Thank you kindly! I thought it unlikely a site such as this would be without a section on trophies, I just couldn't see the wood for the trees. Fantastic, thats exactly what I wanted to know.

Brewing may be cheap to raise, but there are few money makers.
Kaladim Constitutionals, QAT, etc.....
QAT you will need some foraged stuff.
Be sure to check what is required for these items before thinking you will be making money off them.

Good luck. If you want to do tradeskills just to raise cash, go make celestial essences, no-fail two-item product made in a mortar and pestle from celestial solvent and scent of marr. Costs 1.5pp, sell for 5pp easy by the bagful. Use that money to get into baking or brewing, which will fund your other skills. Brewing is much easier and faster, but fewer sellable things.

And it has an extremely expensive trophy, since you need to sacrifice a corking device even to attempt one. And trophies can fail a LOT for some people. Corking devices cost 2500 a pop on my server.

But it's a very, very useable skill. You can make good money off tempers, and both smiths and tailors need tempers in sometimes tremendous quantity.

Baking income has been more reliable money maker for me by far, requires virtually nothing in the way of foraging(very easy to buy stuff off people in bazaar or off NPC vendors), trophy much cheaper, more expensive to skill up in by far, and not useful for much of anything besides baking. Brewing is dirt cheap to level, no forages needed to 248 at least, has broad uses outside itself, most expensive trophy by FAR especially if you do any failing at all, less reliable sales of product. But some tempers sell VERY nicely.

I apparantly don't know how to make the GM Baking spoon... I have failed four times now. My baking is 250, plus geerlok. I guess I just have bad luck.

ouch... guy in my guild has finally gotten Tinker trophy after 4 attempts...

If you want you can try the "streakyness" way that some people swear by and have the combine ready in a spit and keep casting spells till you get a fizzle and then hit combine.

It's the equivalent of a "lucky rabbit's foot" ... but if I were going for a fifth attempt on a trophy... I'd try just about any crazy idea...

Best of luck.
