  • Tradeskillers, What Ingredient(s) Would You Like Me To Make?

It is highly unlikely that I will ever make it to GM in any skill. However, I do need to make some money. (FYI, almost everything I ever sell is the lowest priced in Bazaar)

So if you could wave a magic wand and create an unlimited supply of what ingredient, mixture, item, or whatever, what would it be?

I am looking for some combine that I can make that you tradeskillers need, but hate to make. Or maybe you do not want to make something that trivials out at 40 or so.

Leave any suggestions here, and myself and others may be able to help you guys and gals out.

BTW, I had heard that everyone would want fillet of whatever, and they never sell (Yes, mine are the lowest priced). That is why I posted here.

As a brewer, I've always wanted to see someone selling soda waters. 3pp or so a piece would be right around double the cost, but it would be enough of a time saver that I'd snap 'em up. Liquidised meats might convince me to make GLM's more often too.

I hear tailors like Heady Kiola and the Paela sap drink. Might be able to make a little cash off of the more commonly used and easy to make tempers as well.

Any server with well established smiths will tell you, Celestial Essences. Need sometimes up to 80 for a single item with all its subcombines (rumor, never confirmed that on my part). And its a wrist snapper to make 10k of those in a night and then still want to do skillup runs. I sell them, very nice profit. Realistically, any item that has more than 2 different items with subcombines is a target. Make hte separate parts to MTP's for example. Key is patience, bad word, but your friend in moving this stuff

        Coldain Tempers

        Coldain Velium Tempers

Can buy these from merchants for about 30p (or is it buy Coladain Heater and combine with Celestial Essence for a total cost of 30p - I forget). Or they can be made from the ground up (brewing the heater first) for a cost of about 10p. But they're a right pain in the a... to make. So price em at about 20p and see what interest you generate.

Or you could then combine the tempers with blocks of mithril to make sheets of mithril and sell those.

A guildie of mine is often the ONLY person selling Velium Temper in bazaar. She sells em at 20 plat each. And sells out nightly. Seems lots of folks either don't know you can buy them in Thurg. Either way, she sells em for less than the Thurg vendor anyways.

PS - you need to be able to port into CObalt Scar to do this though. So make sure Claws and Othmir factions are both good enough.

She sells out because she's charging 20PP, which is cheaper by 6PP or so than Thurg..;-) And she makes a profit.

            As for me...

I am about to get tailoring up to 200 (186 now). I would like a metric ton of Sacred Tunarean Silks. Haven't figured out a reasonable price, but since it and pottery (199) are my only sub 200 skills (and pottering is pissing me off at 199) I would love to power through it..;-)

Infused sheets of (insert racial type here).

You'd have to have a nice round number, consistent, and account for the cost of the BD, the block of velium, and the enchanting of the ore involved. But I know I'd buy em. They would sell in no time, I imagine.

Leather padding is always in need, as well.

I also find a small market buying divine crystalline glazes...

I will go with the above Celestial Essence. Sure, they are a no-fail, 2 item combines, but many people need them in mass quantities (60 are used in making 20 Solstice Robes attempts assuming 0 failures on making dust or swatches). Sell them at (or around) 5pp each and pick up your chin as you see them fly out of your sacks.

I agree with the Coldain Velium Temper. They are 26pp+ in Thurg. If you sold for 20pp, you would sell out daily...no matter how many you made.

Mana Vials seem to sell well, but the enchanter made items that there is never enough of are the enchanted items: clay, silver, gold, platinum come to mind because I need them for skill ups. And if I could find plant shoots and seahorse roe (I am an Erudite after all), not only would I buy it, I might give ya a kiss too!

I used to stock those but they don't sell. Well, the clay did eventually, but it is such a plat drain to make it (opportunity cost that is), there are better uses for that trader slot.

Bah! Not when I can't make my cultural because I can't find an enchanter to enchant platinum and/or HQ Ore! =p

I buy Celestial Essences, Imbued Emeralds and Imbued Plains pebbles. Sometimes Enchanted clay and mana vials, but since those are not for sale much on my server, I've got out of the habit of looking. I mention this last point since it may take some time to build a customer base on some items. I occasionally need zone essences and other foraged based items. I like when they are there, but is not a big volume.

I don't buy them, but I had always heard that silk and padding were good staples.

By the way in my opinion, one should not undercut the lowest price if it is fair, but match it. If others are selling CE for 5pp, I suggest just matching. If you go 4.5, then they may go 4.0. This encourages customer confusion, and you both lose money in the long run. If you just match the existing fair price, you both will do OK in the long run.

And certainly dont play Kmart and sell a 300pp item for 299pp. I hate that!

                        HQ ore doesn't stack.

Platinum does but there's not enough of a market to make it worthwhile sotcking it.

                        I can, obviously, enchant either.

                          Proven long-term markets exist in:

                          Silk swatches (or spider silk)
                          Leather padding
                          Cod oil (or cobalt cod)
                          Heady Kiola
                          Celestial Essence

Coldain Velium Temper is also profitable and always in short supply in the bazaar. The catch is that it takes four Celestial Essences to make a temper, and trivials at around 140. If you can already sell Celestial Essences for 5pp each and sell out every night, why bother making them into tempers? But... it can be a way to expand your market, and they might sell just fine at 25pp.

Small pieces of Velium are a fun one. Any sane tailor would rather have small bricks than small pieces, but tailors are not sane. Small pieces sell for 25 to 30 pp each, and small bricks of Velium sell for about 40 pp. So buy up the small bricks, chisel them into small pieces, and sell the small pieces. That's a profit of 10 to 20 pp per combine. Limited market since there are only a few dozen small bricks available per day, but easy to do when you're running around the bazaar anyway. You can even chisel down the large bricks if the price is right.

Liquidized meats would sell nowadays, but it's a seasonal market. Right now the rich and ubers like to use them (and they pay very well), six months from now maybe not.

Also check the bazaar on your server. If nobody is selling Cheese or Fuzzlecutter Formula 5000, you could go buy some and sell it in bazaar for an easy profit.

Mana vials don't sell as well as you'd think. Most imbued gems, like plains pebbles, move slowly. But imbued emeralds sell by the hundreds at a 100% profit... and sometimes at 300% profit if you dare price that high.

Or you could just sell ingredients, especially if you can forage. I find I can buy berries and roots for 2 pp each, or farm them, and sell them for 50 pp each within hours. It's a new market, but demand is high.

                          Sylvan berries
                          Bamboo shoots
                          Plains roots
                          Honey berry
                          Morning dew
                          Yew leaves
83/1000 High Elven Enchanter on cazic (8x300 tradeskills)

I guess 30k a month profit isn't that much by some standards, or maybe depends on how well you think they sell.

I wish I could get people to price emeralds that low. 3 times markup is the cheapest I ever see.

Folded sheets of velium sell fast (I've yet to have a stack sell out in more than 3 days at 100pp -- price people here say they'd pay? 60pp)

                            Any kind of ore.

Don't listen to the people on this board for what they'd buy. They're a bunch of cheap bastards you can't make money from.
