The part I'm looking forward to is the way to mem spells. So many times I've removed root to mem some buff, then forgot to mem root again before a fight. Then had to struggle to stun the thing and attempt to remem root before it killed me. Which meant removing one spell, type /book 10 and then hoping I could click-drag root over and mem it fast enough. With the new way of being able to right click the gem and only sit down long enough to mem that would be just enough time to get it memmed before getting smacked again. I LIKE that.

Also favorite spell list is gonna be great! So many times I find myself going from solo'ing directly into a group type situation, then having to sit down during a fight trying to quickly remember what spells I need and get them put up in the right order. And as we casters know, the majority of the time spent in memming spells is finding them and dragging them over, not the actual mem time (at higher levels anyway) so this will be a definite boon to us. May only save a few moments of time, but it'll definitely save aggravation LOL

My husband and I were just talking about Veksar last night and wondering when it was gonna go live. I sense guild adventuring coming up!

In general I just like patches that will effect me in any way, bad or good. So I'm sure there are bad things that will make people upset..but I'm happy because something/anything is changing =) That and vendors will get reset *happy dance*

I wonder if the new quests for newbies will include the newbie armor quest series for those races who still don't have them over ONE YEAR after the first series went live. :/

Does anyone know if it is just one spell list that can saved? It sounds like it can be multiple lists, but it's a bit vague.

That would be so cool to have multiple lists!

        1)Group
        2)Solo
        3)Duo
4&5)Buffs (one set for normal times and one for buffing low lvl's)
        6)Enchantments
        7)Illusions

I am actually bouncing in my chair just thinking about it!

            Wow!!
            Now that's good news!
Just getting the shared bank space was enough to get me all excited, but those spell lists and meming spells are double extra bonuses!!

            YAY!

The shared bank will be a huge boon.

As for the spells what can I say I may actully pull out an old alt and play some more. Playing a Druid for so long it is hard to remember what the enchanter spells are not to mention my old necro.

An extra 20 slots of storage between however many characters you can create per server.

I think you all missed the most imporatant tradeskill part of the patch.

To help reduce that confusion, we are adding a Tradeskill tag to items that are used as components in trade skill recipes.

This means that all those recipies we have not solved or Misc items we wondered if were vendor trash or just for some recipie we couldn't figure out.... we now have to decipher. Should take some fun out of it, but it could offer some clues to the elusive PoP arrow for instance.

The part that gets me about the spell lists, potentially, is that I can see their method of coding it having a fault:

You strip all 8 spells from memory.
You load, one at a time, each spell into memory (in order).
You then wait for refresh timers on the spells.

Well, this is a great idea, except that every scheme of spells for my cleric will have DA and DB in the 4th and 5th slot - yet every time I reload spells, I'm betting I'll have to wait 15 min for those spells to refresh.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope they make the spell list "smart" so it optimizes your memorization; that is to say, I hope it doesn't forget, then memorize, spells you already have in that slot.

I'm very excited about the potentials here.

Look at the future plans, too, and what's "in the works."

They might be reviewing the failure of Trivial Combines (past a certain level I'm guessing) by master tradespeople. Yarr!!

They're revamping more material, in zones that are unused or underutilized.

All in all, I think they're waking up to a few realizations:

Tradeskillers that fail on metal bits, leather padding, and short beers, after acquiring their TROPHY for that tradeskill, are a bit irate.

People have mostly established the leveling zones, from 1 to 50. Revision of content in those levels is spotty, and largely done for flavor. 50+ content updates is GOOD.

Ease-of-Use and Smart UI decisions, that other MMORPG's are making extensive use of (such as WoW and EQII, etc), is being included into EQ, finally! See the revisions to newbies, and xp, and newbie quests over the past year? See the spell-book changes in the works?

Sadly, they'll have to keep marketing like this, or their audience will move on, time investments be ****ed...

In addition, NPC merchants as well as other notable folks will have a title that will explain what their jobs are. For example, a baking supply merchant can be recognized as such by the description beneath his name.
