  • Looking for stat boosting suggestions

My int is pretty low for the purposes of tradeskilling. Even with KEI and SP and what little INT gear I've managed to get myself I end up with somewhere in the realm of 146 INT (don't remember the exact number, I'm at work). Only level 43 at the moment, so hopefully I'll be able to pick up some more gooder INT stuff as I advance later on. I would like to, however get my INT as high as possible now for obvious reasons. I don't want to stop brewing until I can get to the planes. Can anyone provide some suggestions of decent (non-planar) gear that I could get that would help me out with my INT (anything reasonably attainable at around L43). The rest of the item can blow as far as I'm concerned. I just want the INT (I'll quest for a DMG: 1 DLY: 5000 weapon so long as it has +INT on it). I managed to pick myself up a couple of Batskull Earrings last night. What else should I keep an eye out for, or go get myself?

    1) I thought SK were wisdom based? Would it make more sense to push up Wisdom? Even if a bit lower now, the stuff you get might be more use ful in normal activities.

    2) Look at the Jewelry on this site. Even if not for sale inthe bazaar, you can ask for a jeweler to make any item pretty easily

    3) Beyone that just search by slot and by Wisdom (or int) in the bazaar. It is amazing what you can find at times. If we suggest something and it is not for sale not much help anyway! I got a 15int bracer for a song the other day!

    4) Beyond what is for sale, an earring of the Solstice is a great investment if you can afford! Plus you are supporting fellow tradeskillers.

    5) If you are really looking for drops rather then spending any money, look out for Adamantite Epauletts (wis) in Lguk from Cav, Blackened Alloy medellian from runnyeye(wis/int) and Dark Ember (wis) from Rygorr Fort.

    Good luck

SK are Int based like their friends the Necros.

Paly are wis based like their friends the clerics.

At a minimum I would grab a Misty Thicket Picnic and Qeynos Tea that will give you 10 more int.

That is all that comes to mind as I have never played a SK

Actually the SK parent class is the necromancer, hence INT based.

That aside, what about the Beginner's Magic Manual quest is PoK? It has 6 WIS/INT I think. It's mostly running around the zone and then getting a Hobgoblin Surprise which is sold regularly in the bazaar.

Sorry, not much help. I play mostly casters and my baby SK is too young to consider INT upgrades.

MOSS is a good int weapon, +10 I believe, and they've come down a ways in price from the old EC tunnel days

It would be helpful to know what int gear you have now. Certainly, a Stein of Moggok is a good secondary slot intelligence item (plus 10, I think) which is reasonably available to lower levels. Shoot, my L12 chanter on Stromm just quested one...what fun, I have never done quests, really! Although the quest for this stein really can only be done by chanters, because they are easy to obtain, the Bazaar price is extremely low for the stats it provides.

Other than that, I agree with the person who suggested just checking Bazaar frequently. I have several alts who are basically tradeskillers that I haven't bothered to level, so I used Bazaar to get their wis and/or int up. What I do is fill in race, class and the stat I am looking for, then just work my way down the list of slots. If you click on the top of the column that shows the stat, the items will be arranged from highest int to lowest. Makes it easy to skim down and spot unusually inexpensive items that provide high stats. I got seven characters all to well over 200 wis/int without paying a fortune using this method. After about 220-255, though, I had to start putting out significant pp to get items that made a significant improvement.

You probably already tried all that and I didn't need to type it out, but shoot, I'm bored and work and trying to kill 40 minutes until lunch time.

I’m used to wisdom-based casters, as my mains are a shaman, a druid and a ranger. I recently started an enchanter for making Wu’s and I was amazed at how much more expensive intelligence items are compared to wisdom items. I’m not sure if its because they are more rare or more in demand, but the prices have been scary. So I certainly feel for your plight. That having been said, I agree with some of the other posts. Keep checking the bazaar to get a good idea of pricing and watch for a good deal.

Something you can work towards is getting your trade skill trophy. I know it’s a lot of work, but it can certainly be done at your level. You mentioned you were working on brewing. That is by far the easiest skill to get a trophy in. The actual trophy combine is the most expensive, requiring a corking device, but you can gain the needed skill fairly quickly. Make a checklist of all the items you need and buy them when you find them cheap or save them if you happen to loot them. The trophy will give you an extra 10 intelligence in your range slot and provide you with a permanent 10 slot, 100% weight reduction bag. And the +50 charisma will allow you to ditch those opal encrusted steins. I never realized how much of a pain it was to equip those steins every time I bought or sold until I didn’t have to do it anymore.

              Best of luck.

necros are friends to clerics too!!!

Just look in neriak. The top highest ranking factions in Neriak are "Priests of Hate" and "The Dead"

                  Necro's good. Pallies bad :P

But anyways yes Sk's are int based

As far as a gnome shadowknight? I thought sk's were supposed to be feared. Not laughed at (Gnomes are get the short end of the humor stick in my guild /chuckle. The sacrificial gnome is a tradition on most raids)

Well, I needed to make a tinker. That meant he had to be a gnome. So, I was stuck with a conundrum.

Should I make a best effort and make him a shadowknight, despite being a gnome, or accept that since he had to be a gnome, I may as well make him an enchanter or something.

I decided to go for pride. Even though he's born a gnome, he's a shadowknight at heart.

It might be an idea to make up a magelo of your tradeskill outfit, so people can see what, exactly, can be improved.

As Kiztent's SK's profile shows... Sentient Plate is usually pretty cheap and is a good source of +Int. I wish there were a similar set of armour for Paladins with +Wis... :x

It would also be nice to see a profile for your character, then it would be easier to make suggestions.

I was probably put into the game because most items for plate classes have wis on them :x

Sentient is very old stuff, long before Luclin.

I think it was put in because trolls can be SK's, and they are frighteningly dumb. Yet they still need at least some mana, somehow.

You used to be able to get your pet to do quests for your SK with the sentient axe when you didn't have the faction(voice graft).
