Is this too much to ask?

I'd like to have an 'additional filters' button for my bazaar vendor, much like the one on my LFG window. (That button brings up a window with a checkboxes for 'use my ignore list', 'use my friends list', and a list of guilds that I don't want to group with.) When someone from an offending guild clicks on my bazaar trader they should get 'Don't you ogres have your own merchants? Let's see, I have something you can use... it's the EXIT!' instead of the purchase window. Maybe my bazaar mule could even /con dubious to them, just like an NPC merchant would.

Before there was a bazaar, there were certain people I wouldn't sell to, certain people I wouldn't buy from, and certain people (including guildmates and allied guilds) that would get a discount. It would be neat if my bazaar trader could be set up to do that too. Or maybe even have my vendor con apprehensive to all trolls and dark elves.

Is that asking too much? Or just a bad idea?

    AHHAH THAT WOULD BE HILARIOUS..

I don't think SOE would do that since it would make a friendly "open to all" selling enviornment closed to some. It would be pretty funny, though

It would be easy enough to atleast make it so that no one on your ignore list could deal with you.

Might be a bit harder to set things up so that it would give discounts to certain people or guilds and it would be incredibly obscene to have to set it up so that you could be selective about those discounts.

For example, maybe they could make it so that no one on your ignore list can buy from you, but everyone on your friends list (and maybe your guild too) can get 10% off of everything - but that's probobly as good as you could hope for.

I’d vote for such a feature. It would certainly give character to the bazaar. On the other hand, it would be very frustrating to try to buy something only to discover that I couldn’t because I was an elf with no way of fixing my faction with said vendor. Of course, I could always bring on one of my other characters to do the buying. *shrugs*

          That would be amusing!

Yet another reason for the ignore list.

Now if you could just add a guild name to that ignore list. *sigh*

          I'd vote for that feature!

It's an intriguing and amusing concept. The discounts could work. The "I'm not selling to you" idea would be easy to get around.

Many people have Bazaar mules to sell and to buy. How would you ever know that the unguilded level 1 with no reputation is the Bazaar mule of that dastardly, KS'ing numbskill from a hated guild that you refuse to sell to?

That is one of the many reason I wish the ignore list, ignored whole accounts instead of individual characters. I also wish that the ignore list was the same for all characters on an account. I hate ignoring so called "casinos" over and over when I log on a new character.

Would sneak allow someone to buy from a merchant that has them on ignore?

i thought entering into a transaction (ie, buying, looting corpse) removed all invis options on you, like spells and sneak?

Nope. A successful sneak in the back arc of a merchant lets you buy regardless of faction.

Ahh, the good ol days of soloing runnyeye for cash in my mid 40's....

After a string of "your faction could not possibly get any worse", I'd walk over to the merchant, sneak behind him, and sell all the stuff I just got off of his fallen comrads back to him.

Couple that with using their goblin bank, and I did pretty well for myself as a monk...

While I really like this idea, its not logical.

Sure they probably can do a kind of filter like the new LFG tools. So that if you have a certain tag, or are in the /friends list and are able to give 10% discount, but ignoring people is a diffrent matter.

As shown countless times before, the people in EQ are very resourceful. Player A notices you wont sell to him, so player A just logs in Alt #7, which they havent played since Kunark came out, and then they buy the item from you, without you even knowing it was them. It would just be a logistical nightmare on the programmers and your own part to try to keep people away from your trader.

My best suggestion is, if you have a second computer to run your trader, just monitor it periodically. If you see "Ignoredperson_05 is browsing your wares", just turn traders off and /rude!... Hehe, ok, maybe not to that extreme, but you get what I mean.

When I first saw the title, I thought...

Oh, somebody is reporting another Bazaar Scam (Con aka Confidence Game).

But I actually like the idea.

In response of it being "difficult" to implement. Or "A Pain in the butt to logisitically manage"... I counter with

                            A) It is intended to provide some added flavor to the game
                            B) The ability to provide benefit to Friends/Guild Members (Set Discount Amounts for Friends and Guild members)
                            C) The ability to discourage people from being in Ignore Lists. Play nice, and don't piss me off... and you won't be ignored.

There is always a way to get around the "block"... log in the alternate, get someone else to buy it... etc. But this ability to impede the fellow that annoyed me is just that. An imposition. Yes, he could bring out that "clean" alternate character... but he has to go to a bit more work to do that, and then transfer the item to the character that wants it. How many annoying people would go to the trouble?

But Friends Lists and Ignore Lists, should be expanded to have Four more lists... Allied Guilds... Enemy Guilds, Allied Races... Enemy Races. And Could add Dieties also... but How much 'automated' responses do you want your trader mule to handle? Bah... I could come up with a dozen more if I tried....Newbie Smiths (Skill < 100)...
(Sorry I tend to ramble ....)
