  • Suggested Feeback Item: Ak'Anon Army Knife

If this is an inapproriate forum to post this or if it has been posted before, I apologize. I was thinking the following would be an excellent item that we could request via feedback.

Packaged Ak'Anon Army Knife (right-click Effect: Summons Ak'Anon Army Knife)

The summoned Ak'Anon Army Knife (NORENT/NODROP) is in fact an 8 slot container which comes populated with NORENT/NODROP versions of the following items:
    file
    chisel (purchased)
    smithy hammer (purchased)
    skinning knife
    dairy spoon
    filleting knife
    embroidering needle
fishbone dart tool OR lockpicks (not sure which would be more useful)

The item would either Tinkered, Smithed or quested.
I would suggest that a player would need to create each "part" of the knife by combining an original element (i.e. normal file) with another item (perhaps a Microserver) in the appropriate tradeskill container to produce each of the 8 separate parts which are then combined to produce the actual item.
Assuming this would be a Smithed item, to ensure that this item is skill level appropriate, the trivial level of each subcombine would be the trivial of the most difficult subcombine or slightly higher, i.e. 122+ for needle, or 146+ for dart tool.

    Any thoughts?

I hoped that the tradeskill trophies would summon a bag with these items but then i realized there is one fatal flaw in doing the no rent part

Items are identified by id. To allow allow this "new" no rent version to do they would have to double the tradeskill database and create new recipes using alternate item id's. Which is basically a TON of work (and i do mean tons)

It wouldn't be double, as not all items in the database require one (or more) of the components that would be summoned, but your point is well taken: the database size would increase significantly.

As to the amount of work involved ... it depends on how they enter recipes, and how their database is structured. It may be possible to come up with a few SQL statements (or even a mini-program) that would easily auto-enter all the new recipes, taking about a day to prepare and an hour or two to run. Or, it might require manually entering every single new recipe by hand, which would take nigh-on forever.

I would love to see something along these lines. Each of my characters has from a bag and a half to two full bags of trade skill tools. I guess I could destroy things like my muffin tin and make one again when I needed it, but that’s such a pain. It would be great if we had some kind of item, one per trade skill perhaps, that would summon no drop, no rent trade tools. That would save me tons of room in my banks.

I guess its human nature to never be satisfied. We were given collapsible containers and twice the bank space and I still want more. But it really would be nice.
