  • Buying skill points

    Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much pp it would cost to go from 0-250 in a tradeskill by only buying skill ups at a trainer?

    it is impossible to get to 250 in a tradeskill by buying points

    edit: I suppose I should say that this means the answer to your question is "zero pp"

      you cannot. after you put the first 21 skill points into the skill at the trainer, he says 'you must increase that skill in the field.' meaning you have to go out and do the grinding with your own mouse.

      Research, tho, i've heard is different. You can buy ANY skill point, so people advocate getting it rather high and then buying it to max. /shrug. don't have a researcher, dont' really know.

        I think you can also get fishing to 200 (the maximum for this skill) by buying skill points.

          Fishing, research, languages, begging etc. But none of the classic tradeskills, (alchemy, baking, brewing, smithing, fletching, tailoring, jewelry) I'm not sure about poison and tinkering as I don't do either of those skills on any chars atm but I'm guessing that you can't train them all the way up.

            Infinite, not zero

            Economically, the cost of something impossible to buy is infinity, not zero.

            So for all fo the skills where you cannot buy your way to 250, the cost is infinite.

                The skill point from 199 -> 200 in research cost 50pp to train.
                198-> 199 was a little less than 50pp, etc.

                I did the last 20 points (180-200) in research this way for a cost less than 1k.
