  • Cave lotus petals --- what uses for them?

Seems like cave lotus petals sells pretty good in the bazaar...so that makes me curious what they are used for? Anyone got any good guesses?

    For making the Lotus Pie
Part of the POTC Earing quest.

That is if they are the ones that drop in Fungus Grove.

Most of the Lotus/Sap drops can be used for this recipy.

Not so Pootle - I wasn't really paying attention in the Bazaar this past weekend, and bought 4 Cave Lotus Petals by mistake. These are the bits that drop off the Lotuses in Gunthak. It wasn't until I was doing a Lotus Pie combine with them (which DNC) that I realized I had bought the wrong ones.

I'm still hanging on to them though, just in case anyone does find a use for them! :P

        Speaking of lotus...

        Or is that lotii...

I've been to Fungus Grove a few times with my druid friend. We've only seen the one Deep Cavern Lotus that spawns just to the left of the area when you go past town... Are there other spawn points? Since the lotus parts do not drop every time, and that one seems to take forever to respawn, I don't see how I can ever get enough of the lotus parts to make a decent quantity of lotus pie. I had a guild mate that used to give my bazaar mule hundreds at a time to sell...

There are four lotus plants in FG. If you follow the left wall after killing the first one, you will see a single plant, then the last two are close together. They are permarooted so you cannot pull the last two apart.

Those spawns are only at the first cave. If you move in to the second cave (where the zone to twilight is located) there are more lotus plants. You just need to invis to get to the other ones. Usually with a group, we can do those first 4 without any problems. Once you cycle through first 4, it takes about 5 mins for the first to repop. BTW, all parts drop from lotus in FG are usable for lotus pie.

Are only the last 2 permarooted?

By permarooted you mean I can hit them with an arrow and they will not move towards me in a silent rage to turn me into a bloody pile of goo? If so what (if anything) assissts them?

                Thanks,

                  re

Yes they are permarooted, but they will summon you. So don't just think you can go archery them to death with no risk, they also have a 200 pt (i think) dd spell. I dont know alot simply because I have never really fought them. Got all of my saps off vendors

back on topic, I have heard of no uses for the cave lotus petals.

They summon, and they cast (wizard spells I believe).

I used to solo these all the time with my enchanter and a DC pet (chakta fungusbeasts from the back cave), or my animation. Basically, I rune up, agro by slowing the mob, he casts on me, pet engages, I chain stun till its dead. With the animation it took a small eternity, but was doable, the DC pet was a better route, but getting it to path to all the lotuses was a pain.

From what i hear about FG Damerion, permarooted means that YES you can fire an arrow at them and they will NOT move towards you in silent rage.

What they WILL do is summon you, and turn you into a bloody pile of goo!

                      Happy Hunting.

They summon and nuke like wizards -- and they have a 450pt unresistable DD as well. They melee poorly, but the DD seems to cost them no mana. Also, it has some range to it, so even if you run off, it can nuke you silly. At level 65 with good HP and speed buffs, I can solo these. I'd suggest you get a cleric or druid to tag along and heal you if you kill these.

They grav flux too. Back when we spent tons of time in FG (pre-POP), we loved doing lotuses. They drop a nice +wis necklace too, though it's pretty rare.
