I confused a bunch of people by ressurecting this post from the semi-dead, so here's a back door explaination.


There used to be a list on EQTC (before the mid-Nov data loss crash, not sure if it's STILL there) that listed all kinds of planar drops, with little notes about what zone they dropped in. I took it on to reversely-make this list: to organize it by Zone.

The list was huge, over 10k, which is why I can't just edit this little message in; the original list has to go byebye. HOWEVER:

I put it in storywindow format, with nice colors for easier reading.

Also of note, when I say RARE in my list it's either insanely rare due to almost no droping(like Metallic Substance in Fire), or because it's only off very few mobs in the zone(fiend guts or the JC part for fire ring) or because the supply has no way of keeping up with the demand(ecian ice, earth mephit blood as examples). The stuff I have listed as Semi-Common is how I would like the rarity of most of the items to be and the stuff listed as common is dropping practically in stacks and is usually vendored or destroyed.

and yes, i was hoping that someone would confirm some of those zone drops. yes, some seem obvious, but if the page didn't say it, i wasn't gonna either. (also hoping that if denmom might have some time, to update that kind of stuff.) would like to have one more set of confirmations, tho, on plane placements, just to be sure and to avoid 'your list says this and it's not right, blah blah blah.'

Well, my roomie calls me various things... 'Denmother of GFay', 'Tradeskill Queen', 'tell me what this is, darnit!' 'get away from the forge', things like that.

Ohh, they do that to you too? ops: :P

As for the list of unknowns, I can help you with a few:

-- crystallized sulphur - POISON.
Drops in old world zones frequently, it's not a specific Planes of Power drop. My guess it's a general drop from any lvl 45-55-ish mob.

-- gaseous condensate - BREWING for smithing. (air)
Although I've never hunted there before, I can say for sure that this is a drop from Plane of Air.

-- nodding blue lilly - POISONS. (roomie reports sebilis drops)
Like with the Crystallised Sulfur, this too is a drop from the old world, albeit much more restricted and only fairly new. Sebilis is one place where I have seen them drop, I've seen them elsewhere in Kunark and Velious as well for what I remember.

-- ocean ink - POISONS.
Unless I am mistaking, this drops in Siren's Grotto, Velious.

-- plague mites - POISONS.
Many of the old world, Kunark, Velious and possibly Luclin dog-type mobs. Seen these drop from Drolvargs in Dreadlands and Karnor Castle, as well as Kobolds.

-- shimmering fish gills - BREWING for smithing. (water)
Like with the Gaseous Condensate, I have never hunted in this plane but I can say for sure that it drops in Plane of Water.

-- slarghilug leg - BAKING. (nightmare?)
I have looted these from Slarghilugs in Plane of Nightmare, confirmed.

-- storm ent sap - BREWING for tailoring. (storm?)
Confirmed, drops from the Treant mobs in Plane of Storms.

-- unbroken eyestalk - BAKING. (nightmare?)
-- webbed tail fin - BAKING. (nightmare?)
These, too, drop from Slarghilugs in Plane of Nightmare.

The slarghilug parts used in baking (slarghilug leg, unbroken eyestalk, and webbed tail fin) do indeed drop from the slargs in Plane of Nightmare.

If you're making a complete list, you might also want to list that the slarghilug blood that is brewed into Planar Blood Brew drops from the Nightmare slargs too.

However, the slarghilug slime that is used in the waterweave curing agent drops from the hraquis in Plane of Water (Reef of Corinav). So do the slarghilug kelp strands that are used in the Water tailored silks.
