  • Hollowshade Moor in Patch Message

Did I read the patch message correctly that they revamped Hollowshade Moor?

I can't wait to get home from work and check this out!

    You read it correctly.

I sure as hell hope they fixed the war on live servers!

      !!!!!

Someone confirm this when they can log in. This would be a HUGE boon if they finally fixed the war.

Now if they would alter the stats to more reflect the difficulty in making SS armor...

I'm not sure there's much point in lowering them since, if they fixed HSM, the armour is going to be dead easy to make.

I'm wondering how they "Revamped" Grimling Forest and AC, personally.

My guess is they are removing the war from HSM as it's too troublesome and letting the SS drops in home caves. Hopefully the other zones' revamps include better drops for acrylia as those are the main acrylia dropping zones.

That's funny, my guess would be the opposite. I'd hope they've finally fixed the war, given SOE's bragging about the success of the Grobb takeover script and how we should expect to see even more dynamic and complex events in the future. Perhaps we'll also see the grimlings attack the kitties at the fort in Grimling Forest (or vice versa!).

I don't know, my thought is also that they just trashed the war and set up the zone where each faction always controls their home area. And that acrylia, wailing substance, and shrieking substance drops off each particular mob in their home territory.

                      The war goes on...

Sorry folks, the neverending war, well, still goes on

I just witnessed several furious owlbears attacking grimling defenders to the south. Too bad someone was camping the grimlings so I didn't kill the defenders to test what I assume is an improved hollowshade war script.

                        *sob*

Well, the miners are all gone from grimling forest. They do drop windstones however. In an hour and a half I saw a grand total of 2 small pieces of acrylia. Sooo, GF seems to be a bust. There are a bunch of new grimling mob types and the MR of the grimlings seems to have been significantly boosted.

Personally I am glad they didn't just abandon the idea of a zone in a constant state of flux. I hope they keep working at it till they get it right because it has so much potential.

I am not an expert in the zone but I have heard that the shrieking and wailing substances don't drop off things unless they occupy the southern camp. Is that still true?

At least if they got it so you can reset the zone by finishing the war half of the people would be happy.

No, they drop off creatures all over the zone. Its just that some are very rare in dropping their stuff. What you have to do is find the creature that has the smallest loot table. For example, Assume your going after wailing substance. Now, everyone knows they drop off sonic wolves. So, that starts the slaughter of sonic wolves. But if you look at what each of the type of sonic wolves drop. You will discover the smallest loot table comes off Sonic wolflings and Sonic hunters. This means that when the Sonic hunters own the islands that a person can harvest them for substance. Otherwise your better wandering about ignoring normal sonic wolves and only going after the sonic wolflings.

The best chance I have found of getting substance in truth is off the Dire sonic wolf loot table. But then again, they are much harder to farm.

Actually, shrieking substance drops of the wolves. Wailing substance falls off owlbears.
