  • Tradeskill Drops

I thought I'd share this with you guys, as it is a sign of my tradeskill addiction.

I've been quadding Raptors in TD since I was level 52, great exp, but everyone says no drops at all.

So I go there, and sure enough, half the corpses are completely and entirely empty. The other half have pages and runes...

For a week I just grabbed the runes to make spells, let the pages and various other things rot.

Then I got an idea... and decided to bring along a mortar and pestle, and a couple stacks of celestial solvent.

    Guess what?

Everything that the raptors dropped seemed to combine. So I left with 2 stacks of CE for 4pp cost of solvent... and I wasn't quite as bored while medding.

Hope this tip helps any upcoming druids/wizards, as we can now say that they do drop good stuff, and point to our stacks of CE, hehe.

Edit: I am still not entirely sure what forum to put posts like this in, OOC seems to me to be non-EQ related. Bump it there if that is better. Sorry

Just curious, are you a druid or a wizard? Because it's much more efficient to charm a raptor and have him fight his friends, and when he gets low on health you just invis to break charm, get a fresh raptor pet, and kill off your old one for exp. With this tactic I can kill every raptor on the large isle a few minutes before the first kill respawns, and with no downtime since you med while your pet is fighting.

I'm a wizard, we don' need no stinkin' pets.

I have no downtime (I would consider things alive on the island while I am medding downtime). Basically I do 4, med, do 4, med, and by the time they spawn I have mana to start over. They go down very fast with PoL 838 each per cast, so actually I do more Raptors than the average druid, because the respawn timer doesn't start until they die, and with me they die much faster .

I just love that island, I've quadded a lot of other places, but all have been more difficult. Even though half are now light blue at 56, the exp is still faster because I can do double the quads of anywhere else. Gonna miss this place when I ding 57 .

Anyhow, another stack of CE last night, and not 1 single DNC. Some of the pages/runes are actually chest or sow potion graphics, but don't worry, they all combine.

Raptors are great for bards to kite too, my level 55 kitty tradeskilling "assistant" loves to do AA there. Bards, incidentally, can do both islands pretty efficiently if the have the requisite flowing thought items and Mental Clarity AA to keep mana from dropping too far.

Sadly, the raptors are often camped and it is a pain to get there without Gate and ports when the little translocater gnomes aren't up
