  • Fishin' in Seb

Just in case anyone out there is curious or wondering here's my experience with it.

    Class: Enchanter
    Level: 62
Fishing skill: 194, increased to 196 during

Brought one dozen stacks of bait - 240
    broke poles - 2
    drank beer - a lot

You Will Have To Gate To Leave

You will have to be of sufficient level, or group strength, to kill some mobs to get in, SEB is see invis thoughout, rogue sneak too I believe. I had to kill about 6 (8 if all spawns are up) mobs to get to my spot (light blues and greens) which was -- LOC neg 368 pos 31 neg 75 -- and the neg 75 is because I had to jump down to the water to fish, couldn't stand up on the ledge and reach.

You might be familiar with the zone, and you are probably imagining where it is you might be able to fish...if you know where the zone out is (the one closest to the zone in) then you are almost there.

At the big intersection, where you jump down in the water to go to ilis jail, shrooms, reets, TRAK. or turn the corner to go to the zone out chamber, or head across that bridge, directly out from zone out door... basically the spot where everyone gets to before going all the different respective ways. (and I am trying to explain it well for those who didnt level from 50-60 in seb )

Jump down into the water, or use levitate and just run down over the ledge in that area...there is a lower ledge that sits right on the water level against one of the walls. That is the spot you are looking for, it is a ledge about 30 feet long.
It's best to have levitate going so you can drop down right at the spot you want, you could possibly gain agro from swimming through much of the water. There was maybe 2 different frogs I saw swimming from time to time, not past me, but at the left side of the ledge.

You need (NEED) to sit on the right side (facing water) of this ledge, at the loc I gave above. You can end up with agro if you sit at the other side. I sat at that loc for over 2 hours completely agro free. Free to fish over 240 times

    Now the break out:

    Fresh fish count: 87 / 36.2 percent
    Kunzar Koi count: 75 / 31.2 percent
    Fish scales count: 58 / 24.1 percent
    Misc/lost bait count: 20 / 8.3 percent

SO if you are looking for ~75 KK take about 240 bait, half and double where needed. And remember this was at almost maxed fishing, with skills of zero to about 150 you will be quite less lucky. Good Fishin'!!

I did this not long ago as well. I had just finished camping the necro spot, which is directly across from the zone out. I was on the necro side of the bridge when I jumped down. There is a ledge there that I sat on and fished for about an hour. I had several stacks of bait with me and my Fisherman's Companion (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=16653). My fishing was about 130, so I only walked away with about 15 koi. But I’m happy to say I didn’t see a single mob the entire time I was down there. So I assume its completely safe unless a mob gets pushed on top of you from a combat above. I was there with my shaman who used his spiritstone to port out, so I have no idea how one would get out of that spot if they couldn’t port.

Small note: Not everything sees invis. I think it's either that some spawns randomly see invis or certain classes maybe cast it on themselves. But I once managed to get myself down to 4 rooms in spite of the fact that it wasn't totally clear the whole way. I even took a wrong turn and wound up in a fully spawned area before I found my way back out. I wasn't attacked at all, in spite of being high 50's and just having the humble shaman Invisibility on. I do know that some stuff in there can see invis, so I think it's just random and I got lucky on that occasion. At any rate, this may be worthwhile for the more daring folks who aren't high enough to solo things here but are willing to creep along and con ahead and hope for some lucky spawns.

          You can fish FD right?

Is there a place I can just run up to and FD, even directly ON a mob and fish... I naturally don't have gate with my Monk.

Actually if you are high 50s they can still see invis but not aggro if you move right away. Aggro is not instant if you are sufficiently high level. At level 56 I can sometimes 'sneak past' something since I get out of aggro range before aggro hits.

And if you FD outside the King room in the basement, you can run to the zone out there somewhat safely. It's how I did my fishing. Make sure you have stonestance up and use it, you will have about 6 frogs and myconids on you before you zone. The trick is getting there of course.

If I remember correctly, if you turn right in the first open area, instead of turning left towards the exit or going strait to the necro camp, you’ll cross a bridge and find some water you can fish from. You can’t fish from the bridges in this area because they’re too high up, but I once saw someone fishing on that side of the bridge. I never considered it for myself because mobs spawn around there, though I don’t know if they spawn on that exact spot. I think the main problem you’d have would be leaving. Unless someone has cleared the area you’d have a hard time reaching the exit alive.

                fishing

You can fish sitting down with your spell book open, so I assume you might be able to fish FD.
and hey, isn't there a water source down by Iksar jail? I seem to remember a hole there, I don't remember if it had water in it though.
And definately if your group may be going to Ilis jail, remember to grab some suppiles....

There's a small moat around the Sebilite Guardian pyramid, where the locked door down to crypt is. It's safe to fish from with FD or sneak, and a straight shot back to the zone out.
