Actually, if your level is sufficiently low enough, they are social, but only within their own faction. I just finished getting a few levels there with a bard alt in a regular group, and would occasionally get two (or three) on a pull.
Was a great place to xp, and some good cash selling the tradeskill drops as well.
Also, one kill of a regular elemental immediately drops you from indifferent to apprehensive, not dubious. While there, we killed Aero and Hydro, so we ended up KOS to Air and Water, but only got down to dubious on Earth and Fire.
