Seriously I have come to terms with my "addiction" to EQ and Im just fine with it. Now I have to convince my wife to be fine with it, heheheh.

I would agree addiction has been overused by the media.

The American Heritage® Dictionary said

If your addicted or not I can't really tell you. Personally I've got 3 accounts now with a mule running in the bazaar 24x7 and have had 2 accounts since way back in the kurnark days. I've gotten multiple tradeskills over 250 and working towards 1950 (1750+200 alchemy). I've also done the shawl on multiple chars. Am I addicted, i don't personally think so. I hold down a job, I enjoy hanging out with friends and do all those sorts of normal things still.

my bf hates it. hates hates hates hates hates hates. He blames it for my lack of super-stellar-success in school this semester, he's jealous of the fact that I talk to so many guys (target demographics, come on! there just ARE more guys to talk to, it's not like he needs to fear any of them), and he's already seen one friend flunk out of college b/c of computer games. Yes he has good basis/history to be afraid, but it sort of pains me that I like something so much that the one who is closest to me dislikes so very very much.

So, how do you convince your Significant Other to please not be angry, just five more minutes till I come to dinner, yes I promise!

My wife hates EQ as well. I'm talking HATE! here!


I've tried to change her mind, but finally gave up. I told her it was somethig I was going to play. It doesn't impact my family time (I play after everyone else is in bed) and it's not impacting my job, so she'll have to accept it. Didn't make her happy, but we don't have all out wars over EQ anymore either.
