  • Help needed...they all hate me!

Ok...maybe this should have been a primal scream considering how annoyed I got, but I'm feeling mellow right now 8)

I have an iksar shaman who I want to master all tradeskills. From this site, I've learned a great deal of things can be purchased in Shadowhaven, as opposed to lands where I'm KOS.

So last nite I hie myself up there. I can buy/sell in the immediate area around the teleport, but nowhere else. Ok, well, I know there's that amulet quest. I do said quest, don the amulet....still get the anti-iksar messages. I max out my charisma to 102. Same thing.

A guildie tells me about another quest running an errand to Gearo. I do that quest. STILL they won't sell to me.

My guildies and I were kind of under the assumption that the amulet made it okay to buy/sell in SH, regardless of race. Were we wrong? I've never done anything to damage my faction (I don't even hunt in Luclin cause it's lagariffic), but merchants just want to show me the exit. Do I have to do that Gearo quest a hundred times or something to build up enough faction?

I'd hate to have to make a mule for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem when I started Xynn, a few people would sell, everyone was just jealous of Xynns cool Acrylia Studded Tunic ...

Anyway! I ran the quest about 4 times, and after that alot of the people will sell without the amulet on and EVERYONE will sell with it on. So just run it a few more times and youll be ok

Wish I could help you man .

I've pretty much just resigned myself to wearing a bunch of CHA gear when buying in SH, and porting to PoK as soon as I can.

Then again, I haven't been able to even do that faction quest, as I haven't felt they are worth my time, if they don't want my money, who needs em?

        1) ALOT of dark races have that problem. The amulet quest is enough for most Light and Neutral races/classes to buy/sell. Evils will have to do it a few times, even with the amulet on. Bind yourself at The commishioner, and it wont take more then 10 minutes to run it a few times.

(My Dark Elf Necro did it do level from 1-4. Took 5-6 complete round trips, and now I can buy and sell without that stupid necklace)

        2) PoK has almost everything you need anyway, and they love everyone.

Cool, cool...you mean the quest with Steaan (sp?) and Gearo? 4x more for that wouldn't be bad. Can you even do the amulet one 4x?

Del, I had that thought about if they don't want my money...but as an example, the Faydwer shakers....I'll be saved a million sub-combines if I can buy the ingredients. I got the gnomish spirits and mead, but dwarven ale and elven wine?

Don't see the elves or dwarves letting me into their cities any time soon. They're jealous of my pretty scales :P

          Thanks again!

Gren, Fay shakers are to be done in EFP, or for darkies... kill a thousand orcs, then do them in EFP.

All ingredients soo close by, and even KOS to guards I hear people don't have too much trouble.

You can, in theory, go from 0-248 quite pleasantly without leaving the city of Freeport.

This is kinda a bad question to ask because it can made either of us feel dumb, but you are wearing the amulet when you try to trade right? (If not, don't feel bad: I forget to put it on half the time when I'm tradeskilling: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WON'T SELL TO ME???? I just gave you 2000 *@&*&%ing plat 15 MINUTES AGO!!!!! <click> oh... < blush >"

                Grenoble:

                No.

You need to do the AMULET quest, with Trade Commish henry 4 more times.

Not to disagree outright, but you can do other quests, so long as they will increase "Merchants of the Haven" (or something similar) faction. The same is true for the various "House" factions that some of the trainers and vendors are on.

                    Phabos:

Doing the Amulet quest gives BIG hits to all 3 houses. (Fordel, Midst, and Stout). And a Big hit to Traders of the Haven.

Doing any other quest will give a BIG hit to ONE house (In Steatons case, it is the Traders of the haven), and small hits to everything else.

If you can manage it, snag a faction hit from someone killing General Jared Blaystich in Echo Caverns, or get a guild raid together to kill him. This is a HUGE faction boost to all of the "house" factions -- participating in just one kill took me from apprehensive to amiable. He has a pretty nice sword, too.

                        uH... no.

Orcs are knights of truth hits, not freeport militia. And knights are NFP only. A lizard will still be KoS in EFP if they just killed orcs.

Strange, I never did a faction quest with my iksar necro, and he can buy/sell to everyone in shadow haven.

PoK would be better to do tradeskills in, or Shar Vahl, or Thurgadian, provided you have Velious and PoP of course. For that matter Cabalis is great for tradeskills too.

My experience is different, though. I started out as dubious to most there, apprehensive to the Trade Commisioner and the guards. I ran the Amulet quest a few times (don't know how often though). I'm currently warmly to the Commisioner, apprehensive to the house that rules the "middle" portion of SH, but still dubious to the "small" portion and the caster portion of SH; merchants there will NOT sell to me, even with the Amulet equipped. Doesn't bother me much, and I'm too lazy to run the quest a few dozen times more, heh (bazaar loading sucks - maybe should do this right post-patch).
