Foraging skill by level

I was wondering about how quickly the forage skill can be raised.

I created a Wood Elf Ranger as a weak attempt at a forage mule. 50 skill in forage does not accomplish much. I have read that once you hit 100, foraging rares becomes much easier.

I am assuming that foraging has a lvl restriction for skill. Does anyone know what it is? Is it the normal 5 points per lvl?

So if I PL him to lvl 20 I could get to 100, and he might have abetter chance to get the rares?

If anyone could confirm this or give the right info I would appreciate it!

Right, get him to level 20ish and you'll get around 100 skill. Then go to the Bazaar and buy all the stuff for the +Forageing weapon (If it works or not what else do you have to loss) and see if that helps with 100ish skill.

My toon is lvl 30 now... with 120 or so (maybe more) foraging...

I still fail a lot, but I do get rares... I think the same amount of rares as before, just less failures.

Minor correction: At lvl 20, your forage skill would be 105. The Foraging Machette adds 10%, so that would be 115 -- if it even works.

I got a <grimmace> woodelf druid to lvl 30 to use as an imbuing fool. I forage while I med/imbue emeralds. With 155 foraging skill and the machette, I get tufts of dire wolf fur about half as often as I get with a 200+ forager. (I'm bound in WL near the tower to PoG so I can forage either yew leaves there, or run to Thurgadin to forage for tufts). (For anyone interested, I sometimes get aggro from a mercenary, but just click on the PoG stone and get sent to the Kael entrance, where I can log off and on again).
