Blue Diamond Scarcity?

Rarely see BDs on vendors, though plenty in bazaar.

Decrease in PON smithing items for sale, though, suggests that many people doing mephits and goblins have moved up a bit in the planes.

It seemed to me that there was an utter glut of BD's on sale in the Veeshan bazaar -- I had 40 up for sale on one trader, and another 35 or so on my main. There was at least another 40 or so priced below me, and hundreds priced higher than me.

Having said that, I still managed to sell all 40 BD's to one person while I was sleeping.

I guess the advantage of BD's is that while they're fairly plentiful at the high end, they're also used up by dozens of different high-end combines. Thus, there will always be some demand for them.

Doesn't even matter where you go, you'll regularly see Diamonds and BD's on vendors (on Inny anyway). Bought a few of both from the druid guild in FV the other day (hopefully enough for my chanter to do her trophy when she gets a few more points in JC....) and I've seen BD's in NFP at the smithy as well. Diamonds are just everywhere, easier to vendor mine than quality pelts....

I've been seeing BD's pretty regularly on Tribunal NPC vendors here and there.
I think at first I was seeing them and just figuring they were "diamond" or "imperfect diamond." Once I started checking, I bump into them on several vendors.

Yeah with max NPC vendor charisma, or a combination of charisma and faction, the price is around 262 plat.

Hmmm.. it seems like I should buy all of them I see even if I sell them in the bazaar for around 290 plat.

BDs on Vendors

Either there is someone always running around *just* before me, or I have crappy luck with the PoT and PoK vendors. In the last 8 or 9 rounds of the vendors in those zones I have found one BD... Ah well - thanks for the sounding board on the BD availability though - sounds like I am just experiencing a fluke rather than a trend.

I had the same thing happen one day. I went in a did a search, two blue diamonds for sale total. But the next day or so it was back up to 40 some BD's, with quite a few under 400pp each.

And I about fainted when I looted a BD off a green mob in LoY.

Blue Diamonds drop like water almost in ever PoP plane.. that's why there's such an inrodiant ammount of them.

BDs used to drop in only the high-high end places such as PoH, PoG, PoA, ToV, VP. Luclin didn't change this with VT, Ssra, being the only places to find them.
Thus, they tended to only be aquirable by guilds or large raid partys, so BDs usually got stuck in guild banks for guild use. One of the few places to get BDs without a raid was Allizewsaur in OOT. Last time I saw him he was some Enchanter's pet at the Cyclops island.

Now you can go to PoJ and take down the black robed guards and get one or two BDs an hour. I was able to solo them at lvl 56 and they're easily small grouped in the low 50s.
BDs drop rarely from several other camps in tier 1 planes and drop rarely from almost anything tier 2.. My understanding is that they're quite easy to come by in tier 3, much of which is one group-able, so the average grind session will net at least one or two BDs for every group member.

It's no surprise that BDs have droped down to just above the price merchants offer for them and that a lot of folks are opting to just dump them on vendors since the profit they could stand to get for hawking them in the bazaar isn't very much anymore.
