  • Froglok Cultural?

I haven't seen this asked or discussed yet, so I am wondering if we will be seeing Froglok cultural armor? I play on Test, so I'm going to start asking around the devs that I know (particularly trying to find the dev that I KNOW works on tradeskills) but I was wondering what your opinions were. IMHO: They have a culture, they have a god, they have a town, I think that = cultural armor.

    Anyone else?

Frogloks, like half-elves, can wear vertually all small/medium cultural armor. To me, this means that they won't be getting any cultural of their own, else the advantage which, for two years, has been balanced against the half-elves lack of a cultural armor they could make is negated. Good news for half-elves, or bad news for frogloks.

On the other hand, Vah Shir, who cannot wear cultural armor made by any race, are still without a cultural armor they can make. This is an older problem, and one for which there is no balanacing advantage.

They have a cultural forge, though.

This indicates that they will possibly be getting cultural Eventually.

          Trolls have a cultural oven.

            Trolls *HAD* a cultural Oven.

That was fixed around the same time that the Frog City was being created.

I somehow doubt that they would remove the cultural oven only to replace it with a nonsensical forge. When you fix a mistake (*knock on wood*) , you generally don't do the same thing IMMEADITLY.

Of course, you will probably just make some comment about their track record , or some such.

But I choose to view a brand new zone that has a cultural forge as an indicator of Cultural Smithing. Or, like the Halflings and Wood Elves, cultural smithing to support Cultural Tailoring.

              And the Erudites.

In fact, the Erudite forge went in, and then the Erudite sewing kit turned out to be a vendor purchased item, of all things. It wasn't until blue diamond cultural was introduced that the Erudite forge actually had a use.
I wouldn't take the presence of fix cultural tradeskill combiners (such as forges) as indicating anything until there are actually recipes that can be combined in them.

The gnomish forge still has no use, all the cultural combines are either in a brew barrel or a toolkit.

I'll repeat what I said in the old thread, since it appears this one hasn't been closed:

Frogloks will probably get cultural similar to Trolls, meaning they can improve weapons or shields, or they'll be able to make new weapons and shields.

I can't see Frogloks getting cultural armor as being justifiable, considering the amount of different player-made armors they can already wear.
