Well, I've seen two accounts of the 5% failure thing. In one Scott was surprised about being able to fail slicing a wedding cake and in another he adressed removing the 5% failure totally. I'm not sure which is more accurate or if they both are.

However, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much on this. It is possible he'll just look into making it so you can't fail slicing cakes anymore. :?

They mentioned that they might add it where you can see the numerical value of your mana (which would rock!) but does anybody know why they won't/can't add in the attack value of archery anywhere? Would be nice to see an atk value for archery somewhere, esp since there are buffs for it.

No comments about the missing newbie armor quests?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the races that haven't received them yet will never get them.

                    I WASN'T EVEN THERE!

It would have been obvious if I was there - everyone would be talking about the really tall guy with the cigar who wouldn't let them go with not answering on troll cultural baking and the loss of Grobb.

As for the top ten list of things to pester the guy who gave you his card about - TROLL CULTURAL please.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the old-style high elven cultural has the same problem as the dwarven cultural. So if someone is going to send it in, maybe suggest they change those names too.
It's extremely annoying for my agnostic bard to keep seeing equipment that would be upgrades for him in bazaar searches, and then upon closer inspection realize it's been imbued. Perhaps they should change that as well.

Actually, Humans are worst of all. Shall we take a look?

Imbued Field Plate is named identical when imbued for the following deities:
                        - Erollisi Marr
                        - Mithaniel Marr
                        - Innoruuk
                        - Rallos Zek
                        - Rodcet Nife
                        - Karana
                        - Bertoxxulous

Enchanted Full Plate is named identical when Enchanted using the following Enchanted metals:
                        - Silver
                        - Electrum
                        - Gold
                        - Platinum

It's incredibly annoying since Bazaar prices are tagged to the item NAME and not the item ID-NUMBER. But Erollisi Marr imbued Field Plate is a whole lot cheaper to produce than Mithaniel Imbued, or Bertoxx Imbued Field Plate. And what about Enchanted Full Plate (silver enchanted) as opposed to Enchanted Full Plate (platinum enchanted)?

That is weird that they were floored/surprised.

EQ's Yak said eons ago that there was always a 5 percent chance
                          of failing, no matter what.

TRADESKILLS: FROM THE DALLAS FAN FAIRE, FEBRUARY 1, 2002

"Regarding Trivials. On some items I will succeed a bunch of times, then I will fail a bunch in a row. Even though sometimes it says it is trivial."

"There is always a 5% chance of failure regardless of your skill or its trivial. But there is no stat which has an effect on success rate, stats just impact on how quickly you learn the skill."

Cigar should have went in a t-shirt of that picture someone made of the old troll that said "WE WILL NEVER FORGET"

                            Succuess and Failure

Well, be careful what you ask for. We may have the 5% failure rate removed, but then I predict the 5% minimum success rate will be removed also.

                            But only time will tell.

Only recipes with a difficulty assigned to them have the 5% failure rule. There is a way to make them never fail ever, many recipes are set to never fail but they are mostly quest oriented recipes. The cake slices could easily be changed to no fail.

Did anyone read this cool feature in EQOA?

How will the tradeskill system work?

Items will have a minimum trade level requisite. You can advance 1 tradeskill level for every 5 adventuring levels per skill. So each tradeskill ranges from Levels 1 to 10 as a skill. Items which are suitable for high levels will only be able to be made by high level characters using this system.

The system will encourage a lot of experimentation. If the items don't combine to make anything then you will be notified that it’s not a valid recipe and won't lose any ingredients.

If the items are for a valid recipe then the product (if you succeed) will be added into your tradeskill journal. Once in the journal you won't need to drag each item into a container, you can simply hit the journal entry and it will take the appropriate items from your inventory to make the item.

Items will be comprised of store bought components and adventure acquired components. You will only ever lose store bought components if you fail to make an item. Adventure based components (acquired through quests or killing NPCs) will never be consumed by a failure when making an item.

Items made using store bought components only will be of a similar level to items bought from vendors. Any item using an adventure based component however will be better than a store bought item. Furthermore, items made from the rarest adventure components can be exceptional. For example, some tradeskill items can be of an equivalent quality up to 8 levels higher than they are equippable, i.e. a Level 20 item may have stats of a normal Level 28 item. This should ensure tradeskilling is very popular and demanded skill for all levels of players.

                                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                                The part about the journal is wonderful!
