  • Level caped?

I have been asking around on this and cannot seem to get a straight answer:

Is tradeskilling level capped? Meaning, can I take a level 1 alt all the way up to GM?

    Thank you for your time.

Yes... and No. Allow me to Elaborate:

Theoretically, you can have a level 1 character and take him all the way to 250 in:

    Baking
    Brewing
    Fletching
    JewelCraft
    Pottery
    Smithing
    Tailoring

However, you could only GM this level 1 character in ONE of the above skills (250). The rest would be capped at 200.

These skills are level capped (and class restricted):

    Alchemy
    Poison Making
    Research
    Tinkering

This skill is level capped for all races/classes:

    Fishing

    Kaidian Blade
    Storm Warden of Death Misdealt
    Soldier, Tradesman, Knightly Gentleman

Just to add to the first reply.

Tinkering is semi-level capped. You need to be level 16 in order to increase in tinkering. After that, the tradeskill is not level capped.

Fishing is level capped as 5*(level+1), starting at level 1.

The others, alchemy, poison making (also poison application), and research, all have different levels when you can start, and they all have a different progression (although 5 increases per level is standard, they all have different starting levels and different base skills).

Slightly different question. Is there any combine in the game that is level-restricted? Not skill-restricted like ethereal rings -- you can still make the rings at level 1, if your smithing skill is high enough. I mean a combine you cannot do unless you are level X or higher.
