  • 255+ INT/WIS

Does having over 255 INT or WIS increase the chance of tradeskill skill ups?

    Thanks.

Gez, it took more time for you /em crap than to say yes or no or unknown. I did do a search on 'over 255 INT' and turned up nothing definitive (and about +200 threads). If putting people down in this manner makes you feel better, I truly feel sorry for you.

Castaa - You're a little out of line here.

Delftones, you could have been a bit more firendly.

The answer is that it has been discussed a lot. Read the threads, draw your own conclusions.

My response was in no way rude, and it sure could have been.

I could also have provided a link to the last 2-3 times this question has been asked in the exact same manner, but then I would have been doing what you should have done before posting.

Did you happen to notice that I was the only one to bother to reply at all, as everyone else on the board starts to ignore questions that have been asked within the past few days.

There is nothing wrong IMHO with expecting people to do just a little research before posting, and I hold the exact same standards for myself.

            Condescension is rude.

A better response would have been something like, "This topic has been talked to death. You might want to use the search function to look for past discussion."

Castaa is out of line? More so than Delfontes? Oh, well. It's your board.

This topic has been talked to death
How exactly is this better than pointing out the search engine?

I have seen some fairly rude responses on this board, on subjects that haven't been brought up daily... in an attempt to not be rude I pointed out how to search, which is more than anyone else did.

I may point out again that my response was the only response until he/she found the post again the next day and bumped it calling me rude.

Well, now back to our regularly scheduled posting.

Actually, a lot of tradeskillers can be extremely rude. It can be hard to get used to, like the general rudeness so extremely common and mistakenly thought "hip" or whatever on the internet. You'll sometimes need a pretty thick skin to put up with it. Good luck; we all have to deal with it occasionally.

                  my experience

when i had higher dex or wis (depending on tradeskill) i had more skill ups than when it was lower
the better at a tradeskill i became the more chance i had of success

that sort of sums it up

Yes Ueauvan, higher is generally better.
But, if there's some legacy code that doesn't properly take into account the raising of the limit from 255 wis/int/dex etc, then it might actually be worse to cross 255 or at least not be worth the expense.

Is there a cap to the value of wis/int above 255 as it applies to tradeskill improvements.

That's what I understand him to be asking. I don't have an answer to it.

                      I'm sorry I was rude.

But this isn't the first time this has happened to me here.

I am very active poster on Graffe's message board and this type of responce isn't usually looked upon very highly. It appears rude to me since it would take less work just to give a short answer than tell me to search. What's the point if you are taking the time to actually reply my post? Don't post anything. My question is a hard thing to search on because INT or WIS or 255 or over or above are such commonly used keywords in posts.

If it's *such* a common question, why isn't it in the faq or in the eq traders website? (Maybe it is but I didn't see it.)

Thank you for the helpful replies.
