Or will I still do 40 combines with brewing at 290 Wisdom for a single skill up at 169 skill level?

Nope - brewing is too cheap and (relatively) easy to GM - they will be "fixing" it by lowering the trivial on all current brewed items to make way for brewed items which require rare drops from teir 4 planes to skill from 175+ as well as increase the average number of combines per skill up till one can only GM brewing if one is level 65, full AA abilities and has 500k plat to spend doing so.

Of course, that's assuming that we get lucky and everything they do to brewing is working as intended.

In fact, lower the trivial on all non stat drinks to unde 100,

40 combines a skill up would be great. Did 200 MTP combines at 191 baking for **drum intro** ONE SKILL! And of course about 12 MTP's (which was nice).

So Im officially giving them the finger until I trivial out on HMP's. Anyone have mammoth meat? =)

I just love MTPs... it's just like a picnic lunch with all the drinks and food and such, even a basket... yet with all our skill making the sandwiches and salads it's really freaking hard to stuff them all into the basket!!
Think about it... the final combine is pulling everything into the basket, that's it.. you don't actually make anything...

I find it dissapointing that you would think that mindlessly clicking is somehow desireable and a goal for all to strive for. I think that someone with high levels and high stats in the requisite area should be able to get to 200 without getting carpal tunnel.

GM should be more difficult, but not the mind numbing excercise I hear described by friends in game.

Oh well, just my opinion and as such only really matters to me.

You are at skill 169, how many skill-ups came after 1-2 attempts in those 169?? If you get one in 40 attempts but have gotten a few back-to-backers(that we all know and LOVE to death) then there is no reason to complain about it. Everyone has great runs (5 skilups in 20 attempts) somewhere in the quest for 250(or whatever number you are shooting for). Everyone has bad runs also. It all evens out.

I just recently did fletching to 200. Some runs would give me 10 skillups in 40 attempts, while other 40 batch attempts would give me 0(worst skill check took 70 something attempts). This was all with a wisdom at 244. It took me a total of 1454 attempts to go from skill of 21 to skill of 200. That is an average of 1 skill check every 8.122 attempts. I will take that any day of the week.

Boy, when my bard was doing Ohabah Truffles at 193 baking he would've given anything to have gotten 1 skillup in 40 combines... He went for over 450!! before he hit 194... Boy, I was really getting bleak on that run... but now he's up to 207, so life is good. )

Wow... I can't believe that brewing has actually been tough for some people. I got it to 200 a long time ago and decided to GM it over the weekend. With 280 str/wis I averaged atleast 1 skill up per 20 attempts all the way up to 250.

My overall cost:

200-248: -2pp (that's right... I made money)
249-250: 800pp

For me it cost at max maybee 1k to gm it
the tradeskill trophy cost was 3 times more

My worst so far is 347 combines for one point (smithing too, post 188, so it was all using farmed stuff). 40 is VERY reasonable, if that is your worst one yet. Complain after you hit 200 on one skillup.

It's not a matter of 40 combines per skillup being ok - it's annoying.

HOWEVER - it's far above the average for certain ranges of certain tradeskills.

SO - I'd KILL for 1 in 40 sometimes even if it is annoying.
