/fast loot

Since the "Big LoY Patch of '03", several features have been reset to default. In a similar thread, it was noted that the bad word filter was changed back. They also reset /fast loot to default (which is to ask if you REALLY wanna loot all no drop items, every time). I had originally had this turned off, and now it will not turn back on. Has anyone else had problems with this?

FYI: I am using the command- /fast loot off (and getting the message to specify on, off or never)

My particle effects turn off every time I camp, and I have to turn them back on manually. I have a friend who finds his language changed to Orc every time he logs in.

Fixing default language

I had your friend's problem with the wrong language being default as well. He'll need to go into eqclient.ini in the Everquest folder.

Look under the [ defaults ] header, I believe for something like
Defaultlanguage=12;

Change the 12, or whatever it is, to a 1, the number for common. That fixed it for me, hope it works for your friend.

Well, I may be dense, but ever since LOY I can't quickdrop items. I forage some junk and just want to drop it. I'm asked if I really want to drop it, and have to do an extra click. I can't seem to find the command that avoids this extra step.

Even if I could find this command, I would NEVER use it.

Fast drop is evil. It makes you lose items.
In any case, options, general, bottom right "Fast drop" "without confirmation".
