In an attempt to stop the hemoraghing of plat I am loosing frombeing knocked offline every day while in the bazaar I have set up PCAnywhere to check on my home system. With some limited success I can see my screen and actually use the chat window. MOUSE control is completely lost as EQ updates way to fast for PCA to keep up.
I can use /trader toinvoke my trader window but alas can not get the BEGIN TRADING button depressed. Is there a /command to acutomatically go right into trading?
Until SOE gets this bug/feature fixed I need to check on my mule as best I can.
    Any thoughts?

No commands that I'm aware of to begin trader mode. However, some of us discovered that the problem appears to be linked to the badword filter--the release of LoY turned everyone's on. Turn it off and see if that helps with getting booted.

          HOLY #*#^@@(($^!!!

Thanks for the info Carmaris. I would have NEVER thought that connected. Since I’m an intensely curious person, can someone explain HOW this is connected?

The bad word filter sometimes edits out portions of item links. It can cause the link to look like garbled text, or it might even cause the link to point at something it shouldn't. Apparently, a corrupted item link can cause a display problem (something about changing text colors I think). Even if it doesn't happen right away, there might be a problem when that funny-colored link scrolls out the top of your chat window.

Whatever the case, EQ crashes a lot more often now... and it's more of a problem in the bazaar than in other zones.

Very interesting theory! I could notice the bad links myself and figured it was a problem with links somehow. I just set my trader to filter ooc/auction/shout off now and he stays online much better.

While this may be convenient I would wholeheartedly not recommend this to anyone who does not have their system locked down and understand strong passwords.

If a hacker does a port scan and see's that PC Anywhere is listening(port 5632) I guarantee you they will try to hack it. And if they manage to get in then they will have gained the same control you have when using PC Anywhere from a remote location.

Sorry if it's inappropriate to ask here, but I also noticed that my bad-word-filter had been turned back on. I can't remember how to turn it off again - can anyone remind me please?

                    Type:

                    /filter badword

You'll get a confirmation message saying that the filter is now on or off. To toggle it again, just type the same thing.
