  • Getting booted in the Bazaar...

Anyone else getting booted from the Bazaar, from trader mode ?

I used to be able to set up a Trader just before I went to bed, get up the next morning and see what I sold. Lately, everytime I get up in the morning, EQ is not running and only my desktop is there to greet me

Ohh! Yes this has been happening to me too! I end up at desktop in the morning. Can't figure out whats going on but its doing it on both of our PCs. Anyone else?

Same thing here, and FYI, I use the defalt UI skin for my trader so it's not that. I was really scared when I just got a new tunic for my Sham and then went to Desktop. Thought for sure it would of poffed, but it didn't thank Karana! I thought it was just me.
Also, anyone have a problem of logging to the Char select screen then haveing the mouse and keyboard freeze on you? That happens to me from time to time now...?
I use Win XP-Pro with a P4 and the works on it. If that helps...?

I had this problem with my trader until i turned all Power Management and Screen Saver stuff OFF. (right click the desktop -> select properties -> click on the screen saver tab, turn the screen saver to None, click the Power Management Button, set all options to Never.) this has cleared the problem up for me and my trader now stays logged on until I turn it off or the munchkin reboots the puter ("Look daddy i can press the reset button"... "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!")

Yup, same here, and I thought I had some kind of spyware loaded. I kill a couple processes and it works fine.

Ahhh, thanks for the tip(s), I had all my thingies turned off etc...but you gave me the inspiration to check further and I found that I had automatic updates turned on. So that might be causing the problem, will see how it goes.

              Getting booted.

I have 3 computers that run traders while I sleep, and before LoY occasionally one would be logged out. But now almost every time I wake up all 3 are out. I have not done any new configurations or anything on my end that would cause this. I think it could be a small bug and I'm sure (or I sure hope) VI is working on this. I go LD when I have my trader at work (minimized) on a T-1.

I'm trying to log in now and it seems Tunare server has 500 traders. I cannot set trader on my 2nd computer. 1 computer stayed in last night. Seems someone else left trader or got booted. lol. I run all 3 on a cable connection which usually is good after midnight.

As for type of computer, I have mine pretty well upgraded (I wanted to see if I could get rid of bazaar lag, no luck and a lot of $ down the drain), my dad's is all my hand down but still a good system (easily meets requirements) and the 3rd computer (which ironically is the only one still in this morning), has only the necessities in it to run win xp. lol.

Well, that's just my info. I can further expand upon if anyone needs me to. I think we just need to bear with VI again till the figure it out.

Also, while I was typing this, my Trader went LD, just as I got him in trader mode from above paragraph. /sigh

This has been happening to me every since the bazaar fist opened. I think I’ve had my vendor stay up all night twice. Every other time I wake up in the morning, or come home from work, and I find the “trying to connect to server” text box up. I don’t use a screen saver at home, nor is the power down option on, but I’ll dig around and see if I can find anything else that might be causing it. I’d just assumed it was a problem with my service provider, as there have been other issues, but for some reason it never occurred to me to check my own system.

                  Two separate errors here, folks.

If you're getting disconnected, and ending up either at the server select screen or the logon screen, then you've just lost your connection. Usually when this happens to me, it means my ISP went wonky for a bit, or my dialup line got disconnected. For me, this normally indicates a problem on my end.

If you're getting booted to the desktop (completely out of EQ), I think this indicates an error on the server's end. I've noticed whenever this happens in the Bazaar and I log back on (usually immediately after, if I'm at the PC), a healthy chunk of the bazaar has also gone LD. This would indicate an error somewhere upstream of my connection, as it's unlikely dozens of people on dozens of ISP's would have LD problems simultaneously. The most popular theory being bandied about is that one or more of the routers at Sony/VI is causing connections to be dropped. For some reason, the game code gets messed up when it happens, and dumps you on the desktop.

No clue whether either theory is correct; these are just my hypotheses based on observations and guesswork.

I also have been suffering from "The Bazaar Bug".
Ever since LoY was downloaded I get booted at random intervals from the bazaar and only from the bazaar. It does not occur anywhere else.
Usually it is when in trader mode. I get booted to desktop. Sometimes it occurs as a player right clicks on me. No connection issue shows in status bar.
A few times it was a lock-up. Mouse and keyboard input is frozen and 5-10 seconds later it boots me to desktop. Occurs while in trader mode but looking up items in bazaar trader window. Again no connection issue shows in status bar.
Once I was in shadowhaven side bank re-arranging inventory and got lock-up and booted to desktop.
Many traders are complaining about this. I hope SoE gets this fixed asap.

These drops to desktop have been happening to me as well with frequency.

But this morning I found my trader at his bind point (the soul binder in Shadow Haven) with all his trader bags. There were several other traders standing there with him. Scrolling up to the point at which he was removed from the Bazaar revealed nothing... no spells being cast, just normal Bazaar spam then "Loading, Please Wait..."

A kindly shaman gave me HoS and back I went, no real harm done.

Any idea why this might have happened?

62nd level wizard spell Teleport: AE Translocate to bind.

I believe there's already a thread about this somewhere in the forums...

It's not a wizzy translocate as you have to click yes to pop up box for spell.

There seems to be some annoying bugs in bazaar. Last night I finished my shopping and sat down and memmed gate. Right after I stood up I zoned to my bind spot! Confirmed with several guildies who had it happen to them at the same time, leaving a few of them with stuck traders due to the 600+ pounds of gear on them.

Other times I have crashed to desktop or server select screen for no apparent reason and the zone appears to crash on a much more regular basis now.

I blame it on the frogs!

As per over in the Primal Scream forum - http://mboards.eqtraders.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4508

If you're crashing to desktop a lot right now, try doing a "/fiter badword" and make sure it is OFF.

Seems that a) a lot of preferences, including the badword filter, were reset on folks with last Monday's patch, b) a lot of item links are coming up gibberish and unclickable due to, believe it or not, the badword filter, and c) this same badword filter can be causing crashes to desktop.

If that's what's causing you problems (and seeing the bad links in abundance is a good tip-off that something's awry), then just turn off the filtering until next patch.

Of course, then it means that you get to listen to the childish pottymouths picking fights with each other (including two in serverwide.eqtraders just now that chased me out of the channel before I took a rolling pin to both of them) in graphic detail, but you should be able to turn it back on once the next patch hits, if you so desire.
