Ah, the joy of sixteen bank slots. Mine are already full, organized by tradeskill, item type, etc.

Problem is, I am old and forgetful, so I can never remember which
bag is which. I don't play on a daily basis, either.

Now that they've implemented the ability to dye inventory slots,
I was thinking it might not be too hard for them to allow bank slots
    to be dyed.

Doable? Do they listen to suggestions?

If not, there is always the option of creating a User Interface (UI) add-on for the Bank window and have it colored.

hmmmm I may have to work on this.

I'd like to see dyed handmade backpacks. All it would change is the color of the icon in inventory, but I'd find that a lot more useful than dyed UI spots because the color would stay with the bag. (Presumably this would just mean creating some new handmade backpacks in the database, identical to the ones we've got but with differently tinted icons.) Then when I pull bags out of the bank and do my thing and go to stick em back in, it'd be much easier to remember which go where. Heck it wouldn't matter as much which go where if they're color coded. I wonder if it'd be possible to have a recipe where you can put the dye ingredients into an existing bag in order to get a colored one, since we can't put them into another container. Otherwise new recipes where you put the dye in with the pattern and pelt to make a new one would at least reinvorate the backpack market a bit.

And I know the trader satchel and toolbox fans will disagree, but I think it should be limited to just tailored bags, maybe even just handmade backpacks. It would add a great advantage to using a player-made item over a vendor bought item, and that's always a good thing.

I never thought about the fact that every single bag in the entire game is the same color...

I do get confused a lot

How do we beg for this during all the other things they are doing though? hehe

            Just a little brainstorming here.

Maybe it would just change the recipe.

HQ Hopperhide+Backpack pattern + Vial of prismatic Dye = Random colored backpack.

Trivial of 120 or so, in line with adding a heady Kiola to raw silk to make it cured silk change in trivial.

If they have different colored dyes already it would be evene easier, but I was going for the least amt of coding in my suggestion.

Or use the old FS plate dyes for specific colours, and prismatic for random colours?

Well, I hve to say I'd hate the random bit, since I'd like want 4 bags of the same colour, and end up with 9 bags in 3 colours (3x3) before something finally matched or something (I know, I could just give up )

And we have those dyes that we use for fine steel armour, and from what I can tell having just come back in january, no one cares anymore? So, yeah, it'd be "contested resources" between tailors and smiths ... but if the smiths don't use it anyway

PS -- On average I open 13 of 16 bags whenever I'm looking for something in the bank lately :/ I need to reorganize it again, maybe I'll be able to stop at 7/16 ...

What about the fine plate armor dyes? This would give those a use now that fine plate has been finished off by the new dyeing system.

Edit: Hehe whoops, that's what happens when I get interrupted by funny coworkers before I hit Submit

Perfect, forget the random part, forgot about steel dyes.

This wouldn't help for people on better bags though, I have an EE bag, Ralic pack, and GM satchel, but those all have different icons anyhow.

*sigh* I have 2 10-slot sewing kits full of those dyes. Don't have the heart to vendor them, and no one will buy in the bazaar. I even commited the ultimate pottery sin and made Red Rust extract from Iron Oxides when the PoTC quest was still young. *hides from incredulous potters*

Out at EQINTERFACE.COM there is a modification of the Big Bank Window where the different containers are arranged with labels above each section

I don't have an account there, but this might help.

                              Or labels, at least

I was just thinking how useful even a bag label would be. Right click on the bag, click in a name area, change the name to: PELTS or RESIST GEAR or BREWING or COFFERS or SELL. I'm starting to run out of room again now that I've gotten lazy about transferring items to alts who could use them in tradeskills. My POISON bag is starting to overflow into PELTS. And I can't even label them yet. LOL
And I DO want that bank window.
