  • best class/race for tradeskilling?

what would be the best class/race to start tradeskilling in general?

i am thinking of making a human enchanter, (for max int-KEI, can do jewerly, can illusion gnome for tinkering) is there better ones? or does race matter much? i am thinking of choosing humans cause of their cultural armor

Illusion Gnome doesn't allow you to tinker.

Gnome Rogue gives you the most options for tradeskills with only Alchemy not available to you.
Otherwise I'd say Erudite Enchanter as they can pump their INT the highest to start and can do their own vials for many tradeskills.

ANYone can tinker.. their skill will just never go above 0.
So, technically, anyone could make 20 attempts at a rebreater and just might get 1.

Tough choice between enchanter/druid IMO. Enchanter has nice advantages having all the thicken mana spells, high INT, all the enchant metal skills and always available INT buffs.

However, the druid can still zip around the farming zones faster, can track the elusive mobs and can kill the tougher component dropping mobs easier at lower levels.

I'd go enchanter if I had a pile of cash to start with(by pile i mean 6 figures upwards) because /bazaar is the easiest place to farm components. If money is going to be an issue I'd take the druid.

                /nod enchanter

I would also pick an enchanter but for this choise to off you must play the character up to 49 or so.

Enchanters are a big bottle neck in a lot of trade skills.

If you are interested in smithing then pick an enchanter for the cultural you are most interested in... human is good. If you want to tinker then gnome.

I think it would come down to, an Enchanter (any race) for all the reasons mentioned.

And a wood elf Druid, due to the imbue emerald spell, which is so darn uselful. Plus the fact for many skills, being able to get around Norrath is a huge bonus, oh and the foraging ability as well.

Druids. Forage, tracking, and the ability to gate to places are all nice things to have. Druids solo nicely as well, an added bonus.

Secondary option is enchanter, simply to avoid the hassles of having to find an enchanter for certain combines.

Really depends what tradeskill you want to go for. Enchanters make good smiths and JCs, for instance, since those skills rely on a lot of enchanted stuff, while druids make better bakers and tailors...foraging and farming.
It's up to you, what you do will decide your own fate.

                        Druids

Speaking as a Druid, it depends on how much money you have. I think a Wood Elf Druid is perhaps the fastest way to reach 1750 if you have 1000K to spare. (PoTC robes and sickles) With limited funds however, the big roadblock will be smithing. A Human Druid have the cultural options while the other Druid races only have Acrylia and Shadowscream. Our speciality is farming mobs close to our level. Melee and especially pet classes leaves us in the dust when it comes to farming green mobs like in Hollowshade.

If you choose the wrong race/class combination for Smithing, it will more than cancel out any bonuses you get in the other tradeskills. Of course if you want to tinker, you just have to be a gnome.
