  • What's changed over the last 6 years

I know that's a bit of a broad question, but my wife and I logged in last night for the first time since 2006. First wild guess at what to do, hey look we can go to plane of time! Gee this doesn't look familiar at all, but there's something blue over here. Let's see what happens.

I suppose my question posed here might have more to do with trades... Anything that makes it easier or harder?
    Xorshaikx level 73 Iksar Monk
    Zaspus level 52 Gnome Rogue
    Journeyman Baker (239)
    Journeyman Blacksmith (210)
    Apprentice Brewer (135)
    Apprentice Fletcher (156)
    Journeyman Jewelry Maker (205)
    Apprentice Mechanist (126)

    Ohhh, so much has changed!

Research has a whole new scheme. No more words, runes, etc. Now the combinations make sense. A very recent change has negated the value of lower level crafting, but continues to be desirable for spells and disciplines (tomes) for level 71 through level 85. PLUS, all classes can do some research now, although for spells casters are still most qualified.

Alchemy, Poison crafting, Jewelery crafting are all revamped with the products being of much more value than ever before. Rogues can even make some poisons that non-rogues can use and that are highly valued.

Potters can make Orbs that fit into a new slot in player worn inventory. They boost stats. (These are the same Orbs that once were available only from merchants when player had earned suffient faction.)

Tailoring and Smithing continue to be the source of cultural armor for all levels. However a new line of looted Defiant gear makes the armor obsolete except for the very highest level players. A step in the making of the cultural armor is to create "templates". These offer an excellent skill-up opportunity. Tailoring and Smithing create some excellent weapons for all classes.

Baking and Brewing create stat foods which are very nice, especially for lower level characters. (The boost offered by the stats becomes less significant for high level characters.)

There is a continuation of the Shawl quest which results in a valuable piece of armor for back or waist.

Also, the cross-server channel, eqtraders, is still active. I have a few alts that are auto logged into it, so I don't remember exactly the /join channel command, nor the password.

If you are on Cazic Thule, I would be happy to help you with some answers, and maybe a few things that I've hoarded over the years...

      Windru, level 72.99 druid
      Bofor, level 79 enchanter
      Cibbas, level 86 rogue
